Simple, tasty, easy option - Edit
To find the entrance there's a big blue street sign with the N°5 corresponding to the address. Walk in and down a short open corridor until you find a yellow themed room on the right hand side. The owner is very friendly and accommodating, she also speaks some English. The food is quite simple and mixed in influence, catering for both Western and Asian tastes.

Friendly, Unique, Close to Sichuan U - Edit
This is a vegetarian restaurant very near the "Small North Gate" (Xiaobeimen) of Sichuan University. It serves some interesting dishes including pizza, pasta, tiny Vietnamese spring rolls, veg chicken leg and Japanese udon noodles with veggies. There are several vegan options, but most of these are eastern cuisine, such as the Sichuan friend rice noodles with veggies or the curried vegetables. They also have smoothies, but I've never tried them.
Read moreThe staff is very friendly (somewhat unusual in the area), the prices are moderate (expensive compared to meat places around but not as high as fancy vegan Chinese restaurants farther from campus), and the ambiance is unique. It is located inside a darkish dirty cluster of meaty restuarants, but once you come inside you know you are in a veg place by the smell and the brightness.
They will tell you clearly what can be made without msg or other ingredients you may want to avoid. This has been an veg oasis for me as I study at Sichuan U and the veg. options in the cafeterias are not appetizing (plus full of msg).
Pros: friendly, close to Sichuan U, serves both western and eastern style
Cons: many dishes not vegan (vegetarian) , a little pricy for regular meals
