A few vegan options

This is a nice spot to go to if you're with a mixed crowd of vegans, vegetarians, pescetarians, and meat eaters. It's in Deep Ellum and around a lot of the nightlife and even a fun area during the day hours. The scenery is awesome. I went with a lot of my family.

They have two main vegan options, the cauliflower tacos on the lunch/dinner menu, and the Big Bend 2.0 on the brunch menu. They have a few side dishes such as seasonal vegetables and falafels that are vegan, too.

I had the cauliflower tacos and they were good. My cousin, who is vegetarian, had the Buddha burger, which is vegetarian, and she wasn't a fan of it.

Very popular brunch place. Form opinions accordingly

I went for weekend brunch. They only serve the brunch menu during brunch so don’t try to order off the regular lunch and dinner menu. I had what appeared to be the only vegan brunch option which was the Big Bend 2.0. Open face veggie sliders on biscuits with sweet potato hash. It was pretty tasty and filling. There are better options out there, but everyone and their mom comes here so it’s good to have a good option here.

Hard Pass

I cannot and will not tolerate horrible service to go along with rotten food! I've given this establishment 3 separate tries with a so-so, mediocre and a horrible ending.

Ordered the hummus with vegetables on my last visit and recieved GOOEY 🤢 cucumber, soft pliable carrots and a really really horrible server who'd served us before.

When addressing the rotten vegetables with the server and asking for "fresh" vegetables, she told me well, you're gonna get what you get"...😒 Who says that? So, I just can't.

There are many establishments who truly care about their food and customers. Sundown is NOT one of them.

They couldn't hide the disgusting rotten vegetables and cared less who ate them. Imagine if you ate meat that is cooked, they can hide the rotten look/smell - they probably do that.

Pros: You can choose somewhere else!

Cons: Service is horrible. Rotten food.

overpriced and bad service

Watch out for the $2.00 vegan upcharge for things that aren't already vegan on the menu!!!!

As a vegan this place is a let down. A vegan friend recommended this place and there's only one true vegan option on the menu. I ended up going with the pesto pasta that is labeled vegetarian but the server says it can easily veganized by taking out the cheese. Cool. I get it. It's pretty tasty but for $15 for a small amount of spiralized squash or zucchini in some pesto oil, it's already a little steep. When the bill comes there's a $2.00 for making it vegan. I ask the server why it costs more to eat less (minus the cheese). She also is confused and says that that can't be right... she comes back and says they had to replace the cheese with more squash. What? Because that's so much more expensive than pasta and cheese? So the vegetables in pesto turned into an $17 meal plus tax and tip. Ok and my non vegan friend didn't even finish her food either. The avocados in her grilled cheese sandwich were hard and not ripe at all. The server forgot her tea and my friend had to remind her - she brings it right before we are ready for the bill. Never coming back. At least not for the overpriced bar food. I don't know why I'm giving 2 stars. I guess because the food tasted good (but NOT FOR $17 of SQUASH!!?!?!)

Great place for mixed parties

I went here as the only veg. in a party of omnivores. I got the quinoa pot pie and let me tell you, I was not disappointed. There were any options for vegans and vegetarians alike and of course, my omni friends and fam had no problem finding anything. The atmosphere is great and the staff is very knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend!

Pros: Nice vibe, Knowledgeable staff, Tasty food

Cons: A little noisy

It filled a hole.

This place is okay if your in need of vegan eats and have no other options. The burger isn't that great and the green vegan smoothie tastes quite bland and not un-like any other standard smoothie.

Better than being hungry, but definitely not a place to go out of your way for.

Farm To Table Delight

Loved the vegan green drink, freshly blended smoothie. A small vegan section on the menu but many other dishes they can make vegan for you. Gluten free options too. Relaxed atmosphere on a Monday night but still busy

Pros: Farm To Table, Fresh, Accommodating

Cons: Pricey
