Bigger than typical corner store

The thing that makes this place stand out is its location. Not that the location is good: on the contrary, it is a terrible location; unless you live/work in the area or are visiting the Intrepid or Javits Center, there is little reason to go to this part of town, which is a car-heavy and unpleasant place to walk. However, if you are stuck in this area, this place has its plus sides. It is not really a health-food store; it is more like a very huge bodega. However, they do offer organic produce, juices, and have a selection of frozen vegan items and takeout vegan items that is more than what one typically finds in a store this size. If you are able to walk about 10 blocks south, however, there is a Whole Foods Store that has a better selection and prices.

Pros: Decent choices for this type of store, there is little else to choose from nearby

Cons: Not a place to travel out of your way for, don't expect a huge selection or great prices

I guess

Most corner stores around the city or Brooklyn have more specific vegan items, this place was just a normal market that says natural on it because they sell boar’s head meats, salad bar didn’t have much that was impressive at all and hot bar/sandwiches had maybe 1 option on each.

Pros: Close to UCB

Cons: Not a ton of specific options

Solid healthy deli

For the area, you could do a lot worse. I come here for snacks on the go—nuts, dried and fresh fruit, tea. I’ve never had the sandwiches or much from the salad bar, but it looks fresh.
