So excitingly delicious - Edit
I had the vegan soyrizo, black beans, rice and because I have a major sweet tooth the vegan French toast. It was all so incredibly delicious. The best part is a whole separate section with 8-10 vegan options. I would definitely come back here again.

Great Breakfast spot! - Edit
This place is great! The vegan breakfast burrito is fire! And they have coffee with soy milk. A great place to go for breakfast. Food is always served piping hot and freshly made. Check hours online because they are not open everyday and they close early.

Warm Hospitality with Vegan Options in the Mission - Edit
I'm been for vegan for about 21 years like 21 Jump Street like 21 the jersey that Dominique Wilkins rocked for the Atlanta Hawks while throwing down a tomahawk dunk. What do I do in my 21st year as a vegan....well I get a vegan brunch & write this review.
Read moreRecently went to Sunrise Restaurant for brunch. It is a brunch spot as open morning 7am until 3pm. It is Latino restaurant meets standard Americana dinner. There are eight vegan options that I saw on the menu.
I went w/ the vegan breakfast burrito. It came w/ beans, rice, soyrizo, hash browns, veggies, & avocado. The salsa it came w/ packed some serious heat. So if you like spicy food this is the place for you.
The vegan breakfast burrito was solid, affordable, & pretty straight forward. Better than the food was the service as this is a mom & pop shop. I felt the warm hospitality of the servers making me feel welcome that makes all the difference in a dining experience.
One critique of the menu is that the eight vegan items are randomly placed from number nine to number 43. Would appreciate all the vegan items listed together to make the menu easier to decipher. Other vegan items include fajitas, french toast, & more.
Worth checking out for a vegan brunch if in the Mission.
Pros: the vegan breakfast burrito, solid and affordable, warm hospitality of the servers
Cons: vegan items not listed together on the menu

Many delicious vegan options - Edit
This is my go-to for early morning vegan eats in San Francisco. Their vegan breakfast burrito with house-made soyrizo, vegan french toast, tofu scramble, and vegan pupusas are all delicious. The family who runs Sun Rise is also amazing and continue to add new vegan options to their permanent menu every so often. Prices are reasonable and the service is great.

Pupusas are where it’s at - Edit
Several vegan options available. The burrito was really small but tasted all right, but the pupusa was stellar! I got the loroco one, which was the most Salvadoran option. I don’t know what the deal was with the salsa: it was very liquid-y and tasted like a shot of tomato juice. The curtido (coleslaw) was okay, too. Service is fairly slow, so don’t go when you’re in a hurry.

Vegan breakfast burrito - Edit
I loved this place. Just a few vegan options for breakfast but delicious breakfast burrito. And it was huge. We also got fried plantains which were out of this world. I'll dream about those plantains for years to come. Vegan tamales on the menu but they were out.

Great lunch spot - Edit
We had an excellent lunch at Sun Rise. There were lots of vegan options clearly marked on the menu and the our server was able to let us know which ones were gluten free. The vegan breakfast burrito was great and my wife enjoyed the tamales.

Friendly service and tasty vegan options - Edit
The vegan pupusas are delicious and can be ordered for breakfast. As another reviewer noted, French toast bread could be thicker, but it’s tasty and comes with a good portion of fruit on top. Free refills on coffee, including iced coffee.

Excellent breakfast burrito - Edit
After flying in to San Francisco, we needed a vegan friendly breakfast spot and this one fit the bill. The breakfast burrito looks plain, but don't let appearance deceive you; the filling is weirdly delcious black beans, potato, and amazing soyrizo that isn't too spicy or oily. These simple ingredients may not sound so special and in lesser hands this would have been a ho-hum but here they're absolutely delicious. Everyone in our party scarfed up these burritos and raved about them. There are also other Latin/Mexican items on the menu that are vegan friendly (they even had vegan french toast and papusas) but don't skip the breakfast 'rito!

go to for brunch/breakfast food! - Edit
Love that this is a Latinx food that offers vegan options!! I usually get the breakfast burrito which is nice and filling. I have also tried the French toast, would like either thicker bread/more slices. They include fruit with it as well. I LOVE the pupusas they have! Delicious, filling, and vegan!

great vegan Mexican/Salvadorian options - Edit
It's all good and service is great. I usually get the tofu pesto, which is vegan, I ask for it with rice beans and tortillas instead of bread and potatoes and they happily accommodate!
