Never disappoints - Edit
Sun Bo Kong is one of our favorites to visit as a family - vegans and non-vegans. Their menu is huge and includes both dim sum and regular take-out size dishes. Our go-to dishes include, mushroom calamari, bean curd skin in black bean sauce, bbq pork buns, and sticky fried rice.

We preferred the non-dim sum dishes more - Edit
Delighted to find this vegan authentic Chinese restaurant serving dim sum from 11am-2pm. Came for dim sum and found most of the other diners speaking Cantonese as well as way staff speaking Cantonese and mandarin as well as English (a good sign). Would recommend getting the soy sauce chow mein noodles, the lotus leaf wrapped sticky rice, fried taro puffs, steamed fun rolls. We also saw some taro cake and turnip cake that looked amazing. Friendly staff and authentic Cantonese dining experience. Would like to come back and try non-dim sum dishes as we did not like the shrimp dumpling, siumai, or soup dumplings (xiao long bao).

Cons: 3 most popular dim sum dishes were just ok

Solid veggie dim sum - Edit
It was definitely nice to find a veggie dim sum place. The dishes were a little on the bland side though but still good. My favorites were the turnip cake and bean curd rolls.

Such good vegan Chinese options! - Edit
I find vegan Chinese food one of the hardest things to find & this did not disappoint! It was so good!! Everything pictured is vegan. We ended up massively over-ordering (table of😄and we all took a full plate of leftovers. It was still less than $40 pp. Great value & great food!

Just astoundingly good - Edit
My family came in at 7:30 for dinner and the place was bustling, mostly with Chinese clientele. The waitstaff were very friendly and well informed and we found just what we wanted for my soy-intolerant husband and gluten-free me. The mushrooms in the mixed vegetables were diverse and flavorful. The congee was soothing and the “seafood,” gluten meats, and tofu varieties were all cooked to perfection. The staff were charmed by my son’s skill with chopsticks and they gave us extra vegan cookies with our cheque!

Easily a favourite Veg Chinese Spot - Edit
It’s a great feeling knowing you can sit down and choose from a menu of Chinese food that’s almost entirely vegan! May it be from

Vegan Dim Sum - Edit
We stopped for an early lunch and the waitress was so helpful. The menu is huge so she made some suggestions and confirmed that our choices were vegan. We originally intended to have dim sum but she recommended we also try the deep fried oyster mushrooms which she said was their best seller. The food was delicious. I think my favourite was the stuffed eggplant. We will definitely stop again the next time we are in Vancouver.

Authentic Chinese - Edit
Wow! What a selection. You can ask for all food to be vegan. Loved the steamed vegetable dumplings and hot and sour soup. All tofu dishes were spiced nicely and more on the hot side. Very welcoming staff and very clean place. Jasmine tea as much as you can drink.

Delicious & Extensive Veg Chinese Menu - Edit
We way over ordered for two people because we got so excited at the menu. So many options, it was hard to choose, but everything we got was delicious and we took home the extras. We had C6 Spicy Green Beans, G27 pan Fried shredded vegetables with broad rice noodle, E13 vegetarian cutlet with Peking sauce, C48 braised soft tofu with chili sauce, a pumpkin hot pot recommended by our server, and F13 small Steamed Rice x2. We would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone. Our server was also super friendly and helpful.

One of my favourite restaurants in the world - Edit
The food is incredible, the selection enormous, and lovely vibe (cute animal videos often playing on the TV screen!). My favourite dish is the vegetable on bean curd skin, but there are so many highlights.

Did not dissapoint - Edit
Our very discerning "Indian Rock vegan" friends hyped this place up, and it did not let me down.
Read moreThey had knowledge of the menu which was a relief, as the menu was EXTENSIVE - we had the spicy green beans, bean curd skins in black bean sauce, fried turnip cakes, fried oyster mushrooms, chefs fried rice, BBQ steamed buns, and dessert.
It was all excellent.
The server was also very attentive and efficient.

Consistently good. - Edit
I've been here dozens of times. Usually great. Huge menu, with smaller menu with visuals of their "greatest hits." Best to go with larger group in order to have several dishes. Dim sum served earlier in the day.

Maybe 3.5/5? - Edit
This place was packed during lunch time
Read morefrom the outside it looks not popular or modern, but from the amount of people dining here it seems really popular
They have 12-3pm Dim Sum menu and that’s one of the reasons I was here! It’s fully vegetarian with mostly vegan options 🌱
The lunch special is special because of their Dim Sum 🥟 menu
I had some Lily Bulb mushroom steamed dumplings 🥟 to start
The other ones where sold out early! Unfortunately because of that they arrived straight after the main instead of in advance. Served freshly and with mushroms and some crunchy veg in as well! Very nice but could have been seasoned a bit more! Lacking salt
As main I had the Bean Curd Rolls with Black Bean Sauce. It was nice, but could have been a bit stronger in the taste as well.
They serve tea 🫖 (1.25$) and fill it up per person
Prices are good, but overall taste too bland
Pros: Fully vegetarian- lots of vegan options, Cheap, Authentic interior
Cons: Bland , Service stressed

Very good Beancurd - Edit
Their menu is extensive, some items are not vegan, identify yourself as vegan and the staff would know.
Read moreThe first review only reflects the two dishes I ordered: C23 and D2.
C23: Beancurd skin rolls & bitter melon with black bean sauce
D2: Beancurd sticks with mushroom balls hot pot
C23 was pretty standard taste, the skin of Beancurd skin rolls was sautéed just right, inner Beancurd was very soft, but lacked juiciness. Bitter melon and bell pepper were chunky.
D2 was slightly different than my expectation, I couldn’t tell if the processed mock meat were actually mushroom balls. Don’t get me wrong, it tasted good, I also liked the bamboo shoots. but I missed the aroma of actual mushroom balls. I only managed to find a few slices of real shiitake mushroom.
I would definitely visit again.

Thanks! Helpful review. Was looking at their menu and having trouble knowing what's vegan. In your experience are the dishes that contain egg labeled in the menu or should I call and ask? Looks delicious.

Great - Edit

We'll be back but at a less busy time - Edit
We almost left because, despite arriving early (11:20am) on a Sunday and having answered that we did mind sharing a table and would go across the street to the Po Kong if they could not accommodate us, they sat two other couples at our table after taking our order. Perhaps this was a language/communication thing rather than a deliberate ploy (they also got one of orders wrong - though quickly and cheerfully corrected it). Anyway, the food was large portions and delicious and we'll definitely go back though probably at a less busy time
