Vegan sandwiches

I was craving a good sandwich so I decided to try SubVegan. Everything on the menu looked good so I went with the Godfather. This sandwich had everything just like a real Italian hoagie. I really enjoyed it. I'm eager to try other items on their menu. I'll also be trying their other location so I can do another review.

Yum

I ordered a sub for takeout. It was really quick and there are nice places to sit inside and out. Price is on the higher end but ingredients are good. They had some bread and croissants for sale too. The menu is 8-10 sandwiches but will be expanded later (October 2021).

Pros: Quick, Tastes great

Cons: Pricey

Delish!

First time to a vegan sub restaurant. Fantastic. I ordered the light warrior, vegan turkey with all the Fixin‘s on crispy delicious bread. It was big in size messy and super yummy. I can’t wait to try the other sandwiches.

A New Lunch Spot

This is a new lunch spot. It is a great location being it is near South Coast Plaza and the freeway.

There are ample of seatings inside and outside. I used to go to this 'food court' for lunch at the Greek restaurant that provided vegan options. That restaurant is now gone. This will be my new lunch spot.

We tried the Light Warrior-Turkey free with honey mustard (vegan honey), pepperoncini, lettuce, to tomatoes, onion, and Mayo. Also the Divine Love- Chicken free pesto also with pepperoncini, onion, arugula, and vegan provolone cheese. They are yummmmyyy. The sandwiches are big for Regular size. We could not finish it. We ate half and ate the rest hours later. Especially the combo with chips and soda easily fill us up. The Great size must be humongous.

The service was friendly and helpful. We will be back and I will be going through their menu.

Pros: Taste, Close to home, Portion

Second Location of SubVegan Offers More Sandwiches & More Seating

After recently visiting the SubVegan location in Garden Grove, I was ecstatic to hear from restaurant staff that they were planning to open a second location in Santa Ana. Although the restaurant recently opened with soft opening hours, I appreciate that this location is open seven days a week from 12pm-7pm.

From following the SubVegan Instagram account, I discovered that their restaurant in house in a former Jimmy John's sub restaurant which is a great repurposing of the space. The restaurant offers four sandwiches which are the self realization (with vegan spam,) the holy spirit (vegan grilled cheese,) the mediator (vegan meatball,) and the light warrior (vegan turkey sub with honey mustard.) The restaurant also offers stubborn soda to drink and kettle brand potato chips or dirty potato chips (cooked in peanut oil) to accompany the sub sandwich.

Upon entering the restaurant, I was pleasantly surprised that you can order inside the restaurant instead of using the SubVegan app that's available for ordering food from the Garden Grove location.

After we were warmly greeted by an employee, I was in awe of the variety of sandwiches available at this location besides the ones I previously mentioned. Hubby asked the employee for sandwich suggestions and the employee provided their suggestions (the self realization and the mediator) as well as the reasons for their suggestions. I decided to order the Holy Spirit and the light warrior while hubby ordered a new sandwich called the inner master which is a club sandwich with vegan turkey, vegan ham, vegan cheese, lettuce, red onion, tomato, pickles, mayo, and deli mustard. The sandwiches are available in regular size or great size which is 15 inches. There is also the option to turn your meal into a combo with a fountain drink and chips as well as the option to add avocado to your sandwich.

I appreciated that there is lots of seating inside the restaurant as well as outside of the restaurant. In addition, there are male and female bathrooms available for customers while are well maintained. I also appreciated the time the employee took in creating our sandwiches and it was well worth the wait. All the sandwiches were well wrapped and sealed with freshness stickers. The sandwich sizes are pretty generous and I was pleased with the sandwiches we ordered.

I'm excited that this restaurant exists to provide vegans and vegan curious people with vegan sub sandwiches. Would love another location in the Inland Empire.

Pros: Large variety of sandwiches, Two different sandwich sizes
