Items marked vegan are not vegan - Edit
Items marked vegan come on egg washed bun even though the menu doesn't say it's egg washed.

Updated review: No longer vegan friendly, staff strangely rude about the change - Edit
DON'T GO HERE. Updating my previous review from Jan 2020 because of a terrible experience last night. My partner politely asked the waitress what vegan options she recommended and she WENT IN on him for no reason and said, "We have no vegan options, just vegetarian, because vegans abandoned us during Covid and all the vegan food went bad so we don't serve it anymore because we didn't get enough vegan customers and we had to throw out all this food..." She went on and on complaining about vegans. It was so awkward, our table of six was just staring at her, like we're here to hang out and get food, not listen to you rant. As if there aren't plenty of vegetables and vegan ingredients served with all their meat dishes (french fries anyone?)...made no sense. And she didn't even try to accommodate like "I can ask the chef" or "maybe this without cheese" or whatever. Meanwhile, I'm 95% sure there ARE vegan options still on the menu (hummus plate, brussel sprouts, etc), but after her very long, rude anti-vegan rant and her lack of assurance that ANYTHING on the menu could be vegan, we decided not to order food.
Read moreI felt super bad about it because I chose the place for a large group before going to see a movie specifically because I remembered it was a good spot for our mixed group of vegans and meat eaters. So we spent a bunch of money there, and the vegans went hungry for the night.
[OLD REVIEW - to highlight how sad I am about this change]
"Had a really great experience here twice now, and so I'm surprised to see some negative reviews. I had the ZLT (zucchini, lettuce, and tomato--crispy and smoky, so good!) and the cauliflower fritters. I highly recommend the ZLT!! The beet salad was kinda boring, but the tofu you can get on top of it for an extra $5 was delish and the other food made up for it! Super clearly labeled vegan and vegetarian options (and plenty of them!) which I really appreciate. They do also serve meat and dairy, so this is a good place for a mixed veg/non-veg group. Nice vibe and ambiance. Tasty rotating beer options." [END OLD REVIEW]

NOT VEGAN - Edit
Please don’t eat the food here unless you want to get sick. They list numerous things as vegan and they ARE NOT.

Really bad experience - Edit
Had the muffuletta sandwich which sounded really appealing but it barely had any filling and flavor. The worst part is that I specified I was vegan when ordering to the waiter, and the girl who brought the food out also brought an aioli dip for the fries. I asked if it was vegan and she rudely replied “it’s mayonnaise, it’s full of eggs” and walked away. A couple minutes later she returned and said it actually was vegan. I didn’t trust it at this point and also just thought she was being so rude and condescending.

Very pleased - Edit
We got the muffaleta sandwich and the nachos (made with vegan cheese). Both were very good! My friends were not vegan but really loved the nachos. It was nice to see several vegan options.

Worst Veggie burger I have had - Edit
I was really excited to try Strangelove's (cool name, right) near my house. It was indubitably the worst veggie burger I ever ate. It must have had 10,000 grams of sodium in the small, red patty. It is 3 hours later and I still feel like I just swallowed a mouthful of sea water. Truly disgusting and for $13 one would think it would at least be edible. Not so much.

Surprisingly pleased - Edit
My husband and I ate here because it was the closest restaurant with vegan options near the theater we were going to after. We didn't have high expectations as most meat-based places often seem to throw in a couple veg options as an afterthought without trying to make them taste all that good. We ended up really loving the food. I got the Vegan Chilaquiles and husband got the Smoked Tempeh Muffaleta which he described as one of the best sandwiches he's ever had. The vegan cake we had was delicious as well.

hmmmm - Edit
why is this place so medium? i have been here twice and it was super-medium. the fries were pretty good and i had a tasty carrot soup, but i managed to get a taste of most of the vegan entrees/salads and they were solidly medium, taste-wise.

Nice beer selection, plenty of options - Edit
While the menu is smaller, nearly half of it is vegetarian friendly. My hubby and I are vegan and we had plenty to choose from. The fries were fantastic and there was a nice beer selection. We had the saag, tostados, and brownie. The brownie was nice and one of the entrees was awesome, the other was not bad. I would like to try out more food to get a better idea about the place.
