Wedding anniversary with the best view over Salzburg - Edit
We went there for our wedding anniversary dinner and we weren't disappointed. The view over Salzburg is breathtaking. We had mixed salad / asparagus salad for starters and the new vegan main course on the menu is a bulgur risotto, whoch was really tasty (apparently the menu changes from time to time, since the dish which other reviewers mentioned is no longer on the menu). Sadly, there are no vegan desserts (we would have liked Kaiserschmarren as vegan option). We will definitely go back next time we're in Salzburg.

Eine vegane Option - Edit
Wie im vorherigen Bewertungen beschrieben nur eine vegane Option. Kichererbsentaler noch mit ganzen Kichererbsen, schmeckt ganz anders wie falaffel. Dazu gibt es Rucula, Senf und Kartoffelsalat.

One vegan choice: chickpea 'patty'. Tastes quite well. Comes with rucola, beer mustard & potato salad. Not like falafel, it's fluffy.

Direkt am Fuße der Burg findet sich dieses traditionelle, österreichische Restaurant mit wunderschönem Panoramablick über die Altstadt. Es gibt ein sehr leckeres veganes Gericht. Reicht! Ich bin bereits erstaunt und glücklich gewesen, dass es in solch einem traditionellen Laden eine feste vegane Option auf der Karte gibt. Von draußen ist dies leider nicht ersichtlich, da nur die Empfehlungen ausgeschrieben sind. Dank Happy Cow aber problemlos gefunden. Perfekt für Veganer, die mit Omnis reisen. Kommt jeder auf seine Kosten dort bei fantastischer Aussicht. Die Kichererbsenlaiberl mit Biersenf und Kartoffelsalat waren deftig und extrem lecker!!! Am besten die Burg besuchen, dann direkt rechts abbiegen und nach 3 Minuten Gehweg hier einkehren.

I travel with non-vegans and am happy with places like this that clearly label (at least one) dish in the menu as vegan. One is all I need.
Four stars would be right for the very nice location and very friendly people. As well as for clearly labeling the one vegan dish as Vegan in the menu.
The three stars represent the actual balance between excellent location and service and the still limited vegan options.

Best place to eat as far as panoramic view over Salzburg is concerned on a sunny day.
The food is good, the service friendly and fast.
The one vegan dish is home made chickpea patties with patato sallad. Add some fries (pommes) if you like. No vegan deserts. So, room for improvement.

For a desert take a small walk into town to eat a vegan icecream at one of the Icezeit locations (check opening hours on Happy Cow).
