Delicious food, great hospitality & price! - Edit
If you live near Ferndale and enjoy Indian food, please check out Star of India. We stopped in tonight because of the recommendations on here and everything was outstanding. They have a vegan menu, including entrees and appetizers. Our food was perfectly spiced, and we got large portions for leftovers. Our meals, which included rice were $11.99 each, our app was $4.95 and wheat Roti was like $2. We ate for $40, plus tip. What I want to highlight is the hospitality. It was so warm, kind, and welcoming that it brought me to tears. They’re family owned and one of the sons came to the table, expressing his gratitude for us coming in and having a meal with them, and how much it meant to their family. He mentioned that they want to expand their vegan options, and would really appreciate the support from the community to show that there’s an interest. This man’s humble and sincere way of acknowledging us, and how important it was to their family just made me emotional. He was so eager to offer us large samples of their freshly juiced mango, because he was so proud of how delicious and fresh it was. And it definitely was! I spent almost 20 years working in restaurants and I never seen an owner greet a table with so much love.

I love that the online menu has photos and everything is clearly marked vegan! You can get appetizer special but instead of samosa they give you extra pakora and bhagee. The samosas are not vegan I was informed today. The food is delicious and full of rich complex flavors . Id like if they had vegan samosas though because they’re my favorite! I will try more entrees as there are several vegan dishes to choose from! The gentlemen who work here are exceptionally friendly and have great customer service. You feel very welcome and invited and the decor is also extremely beautiful .

I love that everything is labeled so clearly, when I went to pick up our second carry out one of the employees said he had noticed we ordered vegan and he would be happy to walk us through other options on the menu if we were interested. Love it here.

There are many options for vegans here and the staff really know the menu too! Dining in there is a separate vegan menu, and ordering online it says which items are vegan on the website
