Best food near campus (2024 VCC) - Edit
I visited in April during the vegan chef challenge and this is by far the best food I've had near campus. Thus was my first time trying Zambian food and I was amazed by the taste of everything! The portions were also really filling.

One of My Favorites! - Edit
I order the veggie plate all the time from here and it’s some of the most flavorful food you’ll find in town. My husband doesn’t like kale, but he will eat tons of it from Stango! I also frequently get the veggie hand-pies, samosas, plantains, and their ginger juice. Pricing isn’t too bad, and you can also catch them at the Urbana Farmer’s Market on Saturday mornings to grab a hand-pie and ginger-juice.

Amazing vegan Zambian food - Edit
The Chios vegetarian platter is vegan and it's my favorite dish here. You get nsihma (a corn meal cake similar to a polenta), stewed sweet potatoes, greens, stewed beans, and rice. I also order plantains and fresh ginger juice. All of this food is easily two meals. You can get the smaller vegetarian platter if you'd prefer less food though. Love that Urbana has one of the US's only Zambian restaurants and that some of their profits go towards building hospitals in Zambia.
