The place to be in Freiberg! Czech Vegan Food - Edit
The Stawi is THE place you must check if you are passing through Freiberg.
Read moreThey have a very good number of clearly labelled vegan options including traditional Czech salads and starters (Bretzel with special sauce, fermented cabbage…) and a very good vegan burger with a home-made seitan patty. Also a vegan bowl. Burger comes with fries but you can ask to replace them for the sweet potato fries for a 2€ supplement. You can get a full menu with a sorbet as dessert.
They also have a seasonal menu which always include a veg option that can always be made vegan!
Recently, they added a snack terrasse on the street with several vegan hotdogs options, all delicious and affordable, perfect for small budgets or if you are on the run.
I strongly recommend this place, which should be encouraged.
Hint: make sure to book your table as it’s often full on Wednesdays and weekends!

Es gab letztendlich doch mehr vegane Varianten als gedacht. Backkartoffeln und veganen Dip, Beyond Meet Burger, flammenkuchen mit Grillgemüse (auf Wunsch vegan ohne Probleme) 14.90€ und wohl noch einen Salat mir veganen Baguette. Waren ordentliche Portionen. Karte war etwas unübersichtlich aber ansich ein schönes Ambiente sowohl draußen als auch Innen.

In einem tschechischen/böhmischen Restaurant hab ich nicht so viele vegetarische und vegane Gerichte erwartet und war bezüglich der Auswahl positiv überrascht! Sehr freundliches Personal, liebevoll gestaltetes Interieur und vorallem das wirklich leckere Essen werden mich beim nächsten Besuch in Freiberg garantiert wieder hierher führen.

Brasserie tchèque avec une très grande cour ombragée intérieure, aire de jeu pour les enfants, service et carte en anglais possible. Carte très riche, beaucoup de choix, mais pas de plat vegan (ou alors je ne l’ai pas vu sur le menu). Bon veggie burger (fromage de chèvre, sauce figue et roquette), les frites sont excellentes.

german / czech brewery pub (not veg*n) - Edit
this a classical german (czech) brewery pub with lots of excellent beer and exquisitly friendly waiters (they got a good tip from me) -- yet it is, best of all, veg*n aware.
Read morereason: there are two -- if you count a pickled cucumber as a dish, three, if you count a (very good) salad and (very good) french fries, then five -- veg*n options in the menu.
the sauces are ready ready, so they cannot be done without garlic (none).
if you go together with your omnivore family, this is a good spot for you, but in many other restaurants, you may find the same two or three "emergency" veg*n options.
i like this restaurant a lot, it is high quality food, served by very, very friendly waiters, in the middle of a beautiful town -- but it is on the absolute edge of being included in 'happy cow' because it really is just just a (good, solid) restaurant with the usual veg*n emergency options, here labelled as veg*n.
Pros: super friendly, super high quality, very beautiful brewery pub
Cons: not veg*n in the happy cow sense
