Meiner Meinung nach etwas wenig Auswahl bei den Gerichten. Die vorhandenen Gerichte sind dafür aber sehr lecker! Besonders die beyond bowl. Trinke auch gerne den Milchkaffee dort. Er ist riesen groß und schmeckt wunderbar.

Hübsches Lokal mit einigen veganen Optionen - Edit
Ich hatte die vegane Pizza mit Grillgemüse. Vor allem der Pizzateig war sehr lecker, knusprig aber trotzdem nicht zu trocken. Die Portion war reichlich, habe sie nicht ganz geschafft. Meine Kollegin hatte den Hummusburger, der bei ihr aber nur so mittelmäßig ankam. Eigentlich wollte ich noch das vegane Dessert ausprobieren, den "Milch"reis mit karamellisierter Banane, aber ich war schon so satt von der Pizza. Nächstes Mal dann 😊.

Good vegan options! - Edit
Stadtbalkon is a nice restaurant/café with several vegan options, e.g. a vegan soup, a vegan starter, salad, a vegan sandwich, a vegan pasta dish, several vegan burgers, two vegan pizzas. I have already tried several burgers and both pizzas. Everything was good, but not extraordinary. I especially liked the pizza with grilled vegetables, which is not a typical pizza but a very tasty dough topped with a massive portion of veggies.
Read moreStadtbalkon is an ideal place if you want to eat with non-vegan friends, and maybe have a drink or two afterwards. It is also ideal when you just come with one person, because then you can sit outside on their very narrow balcony above the main shopping street, where you can only sit next to each other but have a nice view and can observe everything.

Ganz lecker aber nur eine Soße - Edit
Es gibt verschiedene vegane Gerichte wie ein Salat, ei Sandwich und einen Burger, die alle ganz lecker sind aber alle mit derselben Soße angemacht sind. Wenn man die nicht mag oder mal was anderes will ist die Auswahl sehr gering. Atmosphäre sonst ganz nett.

Tasty food, central location - Edit
I am a bit puzzled by the other very bad review of this place. Stadtbalkon is not necessarily the first choice for vegans in Mainz but in my opinion they do a great job in catering for vegans: They have some zucchini puffer (fried patties from zucchini dough) with soy joghurt sauce which are nice and also their two vegan pizza options are very good in my opinion. The salad (on top of one of the pizzas or on its own) is not some bland salad but from "Steins Kräutergarten" in Gonseheim, which is a fantastic local herb producer.
Read moreIf anything, I don't like that they often play quite loud music and seem to attract large groups who like to talk very loudly while drinking cocktails - I never feel like staying for very long. But the food is definitely a good option, in particular if you also need a choice of restaurant which pleases also non-vegans.

Taste is underwhelming - Edit
Nice atmosphere and waiters. Cocktails were good. Sorry to report that the vegan food is underwhelming. Tasteless pizza with salad and terrible sauce on top. They'll have to work on their vegan options.
