Flavor bomb and apple pie - Edit
There's something comforting about St Veg food. If it's rainy or I'm feeling like I need a pick me up I start craving it.
Read moreI almost always stick to the Flavor Bomb Pho dip sandwich (the dipping pho is addictive), the shredded medley Bahn mi, and at least two apple pies (one for later). The apple pies are reminiscent of the McDonald's apple pies that I used to love as a teen, but even better.

We had caramel and medley bowls and summer rolls. So good, my kids loved it! Tatertots are fun too!
Read moreThey can work with any dietary concern and are very accommodating. Staff goes above & beyond to help.
Super friendly and welcoming staff! The owner is delightful and full of good information. I had a staff member check ingredients on each item due to a food intolerance so I have a list of what I can order in the future.
We are now regulars since we found St. Veg!!! I love having an all vegan restaurant where I know we can all order off the menu & not wonder what we're getting.

9 year are the vegan meatball sub no issues
Read more4 year old split the banh mi with me
Wifey ate the mushroom pho sandwich… and we all ate the fried cauliflower
Everything is great, personally me and wife disagreed on the sauce with the meatball sandwich. I thought it was ok, she said it was great, but again I grew up around a lot of Italians in the Nj/ny area so I’m picky about my sauce.

Great taste - Edit
The food is great. The prices and portions aren't amazing, but they aren't that out of line with what the standard. This far away from the metro the vegan options are few and far between, so it is nice to have this place here!

Amazing all vegan small business - Edit
Been here a few times and I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve tried. So far the shredded medley bowl, the tots, Mumbai bowl, flavor bomb pho dip, lavender iced tea and shredded medley bahn mi have all been top notch. It also helps know that by going in supporting a small local business.

100% Vegan Amazing Restaurant - Edit
I can’t believe it took so long for me to finally try this gem of a restaurant. 100% vegan and house made delicious dishes that truly satisfy your taste buds. I had the pho (not pictured because I gobbled it up) and the medley bowl (half brown rice and half greens) and finished off an apple hand pie. I also have had the lavender iced tea and highly recommend the fragrant beverage.

Best vegan in MoCo - Edit
St. Veg is my go-to restaurant. The shredded medley bowel delivers good texture and flavor and can be low carb with greens option. The vegloaf is a terrific invention. Suggestions: 1) Always order extra vegloaf and shredded medly. 2) Order Mumbai Koftas with sauce on the side. The sauce can be used all week. The cookies are very good.

Absolutely Wonderful in Every Way - Edit
The food (all organic) and staff are amazing. We were greeted with a warm welcome when we came in, assisted by one staff member who answered questions about our order. Then the cook went to work and did her magic. Wow, we were just blown away by the quality of the meal, the flavors and textures, and spices. While drawing on many traditional cuisines including Vietnamese, regions of India, and more, St. Veg has its own unique spin on things. The ingredients could not be fresher. I'd had their incredible sandwiches in the past, including the Veg Loaf and Mumbai Sub. This time, I got the Pho soup, and it was the best I've had. My husband's burger was also tremendous and had a crunchiness to it that was extraordinary. His fries were crispy but not overly oily. And the soft spring rolls are, like the soup, some of the best I've had over a lifetime of enjoying international meals. I should add that another thing that is unique about St. Veg is that they don't use processed mock meats but make their burgers and other proteins from scratch with vegetables and legumes. This is a delightful change from processed products. The restaurant is simply and pleasantly decorated. You order at the counter and are served. I mentioned to the owner that I can't remember seeing a restaurant so spotlessly clean, another sign that every attention to customer care has been addressed. We don't live nearby but have determined we will go out of our way to return regularly.

I found this place on happy cow because I was in an area I’m not familiar with and was on a time crunch. I am so happy I tried it out! I ordered the Katsu Curry bowl, pb cookie, and lemonade and everything was wonderful. The customer service was also incredible. I’ll definitely be back when I’m in the area again.

StVeg
Alex Mejia,
Read moreI'm sorry you didn't have a good experience but let's address your complaints:
1.) "They serve pho, but don't carry limes" - one, we are far from considering ourselves as a 100% authentic Pho restaurant so our presentation is different. Pho is a soup consisting of white rice noodles and the broth's distinctive flavor comes mostly from spices like star anise, cloves, and cinnamon, then garnished with fresh bean sprouts and herbs like basil but by no means does it absolutely require limes to make it a pho soup. Our broth is made from scratch with strictly fresh vegetables and apples for a hint of natural sweetness and without any MSG. Perhaps the lack of MSG flavor is why you were so disappointed in our pho. We also make our own hot sauce and our house BBQ sauce is equivalent to "Hosin" sauce. Two, if you would have asked us for limes or any of the sauces mentioned above, we would have gladly given you some. We have never had a complaint about not serving limes with our St.Veg Pho soup.
2.) "They don't even list their prices" - I'm really perplexed at this one because prices are listed on our website, on ALL the kiosks that you ordered from, and our carry-out paper menus have a QR code for you to scan to view prices. There's even pictures of dishes on the kiosks so you know exactly what you are ordering. If that was confusing for you, again, you could have asked us and we would have gladly pointed out or read the prices to you.
3.) "Nothing that I ate there was good" - What else did you eat that you thought wasn't good?
You're vegan, yet you are quick to put down a 100% vegan establishment without even trying to truly understand our concept or menu. We are known for our excellent customer service and would have been more than happy to point you in the right direction to give you a better experience. We would have even given you another dish to try.
Thank you for supporting a locally owned vegan establishment. I hope you're more understanding and open minded while dining out at other restaurants during this difficult time in the industry.
Stay safe, and be well Alex Mejia.

Vegball sub is my favorite! But everything is great especially the tater tots. No mock meats they make their own out of rice, mushroom etc. Fast casual food but still pretty healthy! Indicates Gluten Free, Soy Free, and Nut Free options.

StVeg
Hi Moose,
Read moreThank you for the review. I am delighted to know you enjoyed our food. And yes, you are absolutely correct when you wrote that we do not use any mock meat at all because we make our dishes from scratch with whole foods. Our prices reflect the quality ingredients we use and the labor and love it takes to make everything from scratch. My kitchen staff are constantly washing, chopping, peeling, blending, baking, sautéing, roasting, simmering, boiling, grating, kneading, etc. It takes a lot of work and a lot of staff to put a dish together from scratch.
Also, I'm sure you are aware of the extremely high gas prices and the rising food costs. Our farmers and vendors are passing those costs onto us. Some restaurants are and have been adding a "COVID," "Supply Increase Fee," or "To-go container" charge to every order. At St.Veg, we do not believe in hidden charges so we do not charge anything other than the required Montgomery County bag fee. We want to be upfront and transparent as possible with our customers.
Hopefully our customers can see the value in the quality food and service we provide.
