Cute place! - Edit
Really cute place with some delicious dishes. We loved the spring rolls, scallion pancakes and garlic sauce “big bite” we had. Both bao buns we had were a bit bland/dry, so would not recommend those. Service was amazing and quick!

Delicious - Must Try! - Edit
Having had an okay existence erience at another location we ventured to try again and the Chelsea spot didn’t disappoint. We ordered the King Pau Tofu (had fried tofu mushrooms), the a spicy Tofu Buns ($5 each and served w/ a spicy sauce for dipping), and the Dan Dan Noodles (gluten free and have a kick) - all delicious. $52 USD prior to tip.

One of the best for vegan Asian in NYC - Edit
If you are looking for vegan Chinese, you have to checkout @spicymoonnyc!
Read moreWe visited the new Chelsea location when we were in NYC. Here is what we ordered:
-Crispy Eggplant: Was so good, perfectly cooked, tender with a light and super crispy on the outside. Spicy mayo was incredible!
-Fried Dumplings: Wrappers are a bit on the thick side, but were delicious!
-Dan Dan Noodles with Vegan Beef add on: We were told it was naturally spicy, so we didn't specify a spice level. It was my favorite dish and really delicious, but we did end up asking for spicy chili oil to add more heat. So if you like it spicy, recommend specifying a spice level (1, 3, 5, 7, 9) or ask for a side of chili oil.
- Dry Pot Style: Was impressive coming in over a flame. Dish was delicious! Only complaint is the potato was slightly undercooked. I ate it right as it came out so not sure if you are to wait or let it cook out over the fire.
I cook and eat a lot of asian food, so I may be a harsher critic here. Overall, a really solid 4 of 5 being one of the best Asian vegan restaurants in NYC! And I prefer it to other Asian restaurants we have tried in NYC, where I have rated them a solid 3.

Excellent food! - Edit
The food here is absolutely amazing and the vibes are really nice. I tried the char siu ahd hen of the woods baos and the dan dan noodles with added vegan beef. The service was good to start but then we got passed on to another waitress who didn’t seem to understand the job.

We love Spicy Moon! - Edit
My wife and I love Spicy Moon! This is one of our favorite restaurants of all time, anywhere in the world, and we take friends there whenever we can, vegan, vegetarian or not, and everyone is always blown away. The food is truly excellent: perfectly balanced, perfectly spiced, and their service is usually excellent, even when it's a little crowded. Some of my favorite dishes are the Dry Pepper Style Tofu (or with tofu and veggies), the Dan Dan Noodles with Vegan Beef, Mapo Tofu, the String Beans, the Pea Leaves with Garlic, and the Chopped Cheese Spring Rolls (I know, weird right? But absolutely addictive and decadent). The prices of a couple of the dishes are a bit one the high side (the General Tso's Style dish particular), but once you try the food, you pretty much forgive that. All in all, if you're looking fora. truly spectacular vegan mean in NYC, this is the place to go.

Cons: A few dishes are a little pricy

Spicy hot 🌶️ 🥢 - Edit
This is the fourth branch of this NYC-based all-vegan Chinese food venue. The setting in this branch is very pleasant, somewhat more relaxed than their other branches.
Read moreI am not a fan of spicy food, so I asked for their non-spicy dishes, so I got a Kung Pao and spring rolls. The Kung Pao, though listed as non-spicy, seemed plenty spicy to me (I pushed aside the peppers, onions, and jalapenos). I liked my dish, though I assume those who like spicy food would want to give this an extra star.
