Serves meat, vegan options available. While the menu may seem heavy on meat dishes, the staff is very accommodating to vegetarians and vegans and will alter dishes to suit. Vegans can get the Thai wrap when substituting tofu for chicken, linguini with Italian red sauce by omitting cheese, nori maki vegetable sushi (when available), sesame noodle salad, edamame, Thai curry noodles with vegetables and tofu. There are several other lacto-veg items on the menu. Fast service. Open Mon-Fri 11:00am-2:00pm, Wed-Sat 5:00pm-9:00pm. Closed Sun

best restaurant in hamilton!

i know the owner & eat at spice often, so you could say i'm a little biased!

always fresh, high quality ingredients, with local when possible... owner has large garden & often features or includes homegrown produce in the menu!

they don't do the sushi rolls much anymore, but they have a thai tofu satay that is good, this comes with asian slaw that is yummy! slaw also available on it's own, i like to toss a side of the asian slaw on top of the basic house salad with habanero vinaigrette & the thai peanut sauce, this is what i have pictured.... with honorable mention to the delicious black bean jalapeno chili in the background!

sesame noodle salad is excellent, & i think there is a hummus platter in addition to edamame in the appetizers... the beer & wine is top notch with local brews on tap, pretty good coffee too... my 7 year old likes to order the "buttered noodles, without the butter just tossed in oil, TRIPLE order please" ... yah, he can put down the noodles!

sometimes i sub rice if available for the noodles in their dishes, but i have to confirm with server that rice is vegan that day without chicken stock... also, there is a curry dish with noodles & tofu that is unfortunately NOT vegan becuz the curry paste has fish in it...

regardless, spice of life has the best tasting & largest selection of vegan options of anyplace in the valley, & the staff knows how to keep the vegans happy since i've been going there for over 10 years!
