Amazing! - Edit
We keep coming back whenever we visit the central belt of Scotland. The food is amazing, so tasty and full of flavour. It's a firm favourite, especially the lotus root and lemon chicken! We're always spoiled for choice as there's daily specials and the main-stay menu to choose from. The staff are really knowledgeable about what works together and are always happy to advise on whether rice or noodles should be selected, based on the rest of the dishes. I can't recommend enough.

For Laksa Lovers - Edit
Been here twice, the first time right after opening and now two years later. The quality of the food hasn't changed, it's still top notch. The owner is the friendliest person you can meet, loves to talk about food, flavours, traveling, Malaysia, and makes the whole place so special. If you have one meal spot left on your Edinburgh itinerary, go here, I'm begging you. If you can't decide, go with the Laksa.

Beautiful Malay cuisine - Edit
Fantastic standard menu with a great range of daily specials. The Tomyam soup was delicious - not too spicy. The Rendang Lion's mane mushroom dish was lovely as was the tofu & potato curry from the specials. I would imagine every dish is spot on and I’m 100% going back when I’m next in Edinburgh.

Absolute fantastic food - Edit
We went here on a Friday evening without a reservation (totally on us), and yet the staff still gave us a table.
Read moreThe food we ordered was define. We had the satay tofu and gyozo as starters, the kong po and mapo tofu as mains (both with fried rice), and the fried banana with ice cream and pandan pancakes with ice cream as desserts. EVERYTHING. WAS. AMAZINGGG. Just thinking about it now makes my mouth water. The mains were both quite spicy but not too spicy, just the way we like it.
The atmosphere of this restaurant is amazing too. Very modern.
I HIGHLY recommend this place. Hope to come back if I ever go to Scotland again.

Tofu heaven !! - Edit
Decided to go here after seeing all the great ratings whilst on a trip to Edinburgh and the food was amazing !! 💚 Our group chose the nasi lemak and aromatic pancakes from the specials board, the lion’s mane rendang, and shared tofu satay and spring rolls. The staff were very friendly and we loved our meals, I really enjoyed my nasi lemak but it would’ve been even better with less curry and more sambal beancurd. The portion sizes were huge !!

Incredible Malaysian food! - Edit
The Laksa and Nasi Lemak are both incredible! Me and my partner shared so we could try two dishes and the portion sizes were amazing! The char siu (in the Laksa) was incredible and the potato curry on the Nasi Lemak was our fav! The Nasi Lemak is on the specials menu.

Good, but... - Edit
The fried noodles I ordered as a side dish were better than the main course. I also tried my friends' food and it was really okay, but still something was missing from the dishes to give 5 stars. The downside for me was the unreadable menu. There were only the names of the dishes, with no ingredients or explanation of what the dishes really were. I had to ask the staff, who were nice, about everything, but it wasn't super comfortable for me.

Quick and Tasty Malaysian dishes - Edit
Nice range of options on the menu. I had the gyoza and katsu curry, which were tasty but perhaps I expected more based on the reviews here (I was a little underwhelmed with the flavours)
Read moreThe service was quick and friendly!
Note that it’s a small place with little space between tables. It gives a cozy atmosphere but can also get quite crowded.
Pros: Good range of choice , All vegan, Friendly and quick
Cons: Can be crowded , Limited choice of drinks

Totally delicious 😙👌 - Edit
We had a selection of starters, 2 mains and shared a dessert. Everything was really tasty, my favourite was the cabbage balls, the pickle veg, pineapple rice and the banana fritter. You can tell there is a lot of effort and thought put into the food. The staff were very nice and the vibe of the restaurant is very relaxing and beautiful. I definitely recommend 💚

So much flavor! - Edit
I’ve never seen Malaysian food veganized like this — I wish I could’ve gone back again to try some other dishes!!
Read moreWe got a bunch of starters and the Nasi Lemak. Highlight was definitely the Nasi Lemak and tofu satay.
Overall, I wish there were more “light” and protein-filled options. Many of the dishes were carb-based and deep fried. It was still a great experience, but I would go more often if it had more variety.

Incredible! - Edit
I discovered soul vegan a few weeks ago and have ordered three times since. The laska noodle soup is perfectly seasoned, the wonton and spring rolls super crispy! I will be in Edinburgh for 3 more weeks and will definitely order again before leaving!🌱🤍

Really pleased we’d booked. When we arrived there were people outside waiting, hoping a table might become available. Every seat was taken, and in demand so when you’ve finished eating they really need you to leave.
