Delicious! - Edit
This is a very small restaurant so I recommend booking. It's a little bit more expensive than others but I thought it was 100% worth the price, the food was amazing and the staff were great. The special fried tofu was some of the best tofu I have ever eaten!

Tasty! - Edit
I was the only vegan in our group but everyone really enjoyed the food 😋 vegan versions of Malaysian dishes, which is very hard to find even in Malaysia 😅

Outstanding - Edit
We had two starters, two mains and one dessert. Every dish was delicious with also different flavor’s, making the whole experience outstanding. Before we ordered, the waitress asked for allergies. We can really recommend the tofu as a starter!

Great food, attentive, friendly staff. Small place, crowded but understandably so. Be quick as there is already a queue at 5:30 p.m.

If you’re looking for THE vegan restaurant - Edit
in Edinburgh, look no further. The place might be very crowded, but rightly so. The food is really really fantastic and just feels so authentic and well prepared, anything but five stars would be insane. Come and try out for yourself!

Perhaps the best vegan restaurant I’ve visited - Edit
This is a fantastic place. Vegan food that feels to be the original thing and not a substitute. Everything, from the gyoza to the surprising sweet potato and ice cream was precise and imaginative.

My all time favourite - Edit
Soul vegan is a fully vegan Malaysian restaurant with incredible food, full of flavour!
Read moreThe menu had lots of options so it was hard to pick because they all sounded incredible.
To start we shared the satay tofu, which was so good. The tofu was soft on the inside but breaded on the outside so had the perfect texture. The peanut sauce was so good and worked well with the salad!
My partner got the rendang lions mane mushroom. The texture of the mushrooms were great in a rendang and held all the flavours!
Then I got the laksa and I would recommend this 100%.
The broth was creamy, peanuty and a little sweet which worked so well with all the toppings (which were full to the brim). It had soft noodles, tofu, char Sui pork, green beans, crispy onions and fried dumplings. The portion was huge but I couldn’t stop eating because it was incredible!
Pros: Amazing laska, Great starters, Friendly staff

Delicious 😋 - Edit
Visited Soul Vegan for the first time in July and we’ll definitely be back. Absolutely delicious Malaysian food. I had the Rendang Lions Mane Mushroom and my partner had the Nasi Lemak & Malaysian rice (served with sambal beancurd, potato curry, archer and crispy beancurd) from the specials board. We didn’t have room for dessert but they looked amazing.

One of my best meals ever - Edit
Came here with a friend who's been a few times. Had a short wait to get in as it's very popular and a small restaurant. My friend suggested the laksa which I hadn't had before and it was honestly incredible. My brother and I make up our dream menu's and it's definitely a contender for my main course. Can't wait to return to Edinburgh to try it again.

Good Malaysian restaurant - Edit
The location is amazing, the staff is so friendly, precise, helpful and efficient. All the food we tried was very good, just a bit too fried and heavy on my stomach, but the price was reasonable and after all it was worth it.

Our Souls (and tummies) were Very happy!! 🤤🌱❤️ - Edit
I have no idea why we haven't tried here before, we don't tend to eat out much, as we often cook at home.
Read moreHowever, we booked Soul Vegan for our wedding anniversary dinner and it did NOT disappoint.
Amazing restaurant, truly authentic, creative and overall, Wow!
We had the crispy Wonton and Lotus flower for starters, both dishes were really nice.
I had the Laska Noodles, hubby had the Gan Lau Mee.
Again both dishes were amazing! Really tasty, authentic, freshly prepared with just the right amount of spice. The 'mock' Char Sui meat was super yummy, I would love the recipe!
We finished by sharing the pandan pancakes, which were lush!
Both of us left with very full, happy tummies and souls
We will deffo be back and will make sure to order takeaway also sometime soon.
A really popular restaurant, so be sure to reserve a table to avoid disappointment

Amazing vegan food...and not just for vegans. Have taken non-vegan family here and they've been blown away by it. Particular mentions for the Crispy "duck" pancakes and the char sui, so tasty. Although everything we've eaten has been delicious. Friendly staff, efficient service, what more could you want!
