Left hungry, flavors were fine - Edit
If you want to dine here, make sure you eat before you come because you will pay $200 for 4-5 dishes and still be hungry. The portion sizes are so tiny. The flavors were only okay. I just don’t know what all the fuss is about.
Read moreEven for a special night out where you’re expecting to spend a little bit more on a nice meal and are interested in presentation over portion size, I still don’t know that this is worth it. The flavors just didn’t work for me.
On top of the insane dish prices, they also charge an extra 3% (of your entire bill) if you pay with a card.
Pros: Flavors were interesting, Nice ambiance
Cons: Too expensive, Small portions , Our waitress wasn’t knowledgeable

Why is everyone so impressed? - Edit
I'm lost, I don't get all the 4-5 star reviews. The food is pretty, it tastes good, the restaurant itself is nice, but what are y'all raving about?
Read moreThe service though friendly isn't great. We had 2 wrong drinks, she was incredibly confused when asked if you make a dish vegan if they subbed vegan ingredients or just took off non vegan items. We all said no to dessert but she brought each of us a dessert menu. That's all ok, people have off nights. But the price you pay for the portions...come on, it's not worth it.
We were told to order 3 items per person, dishes start around $17 and go up to $30 . I'm happy to spend money on an experience and understand I'm paying for a presumed level of quality, but this is outta control. It's good, but it's just not that good. Our vegetarian friends got fish, small piece, well cooked but over salted. Scallops were small and cold in the center. The radishes were good, the tomatoes were good, the gnocchi, yup good...it just isn't great, it's all just kinda of underwhelming for the hype and the price.
I recommend it if you've got a lot of money burning a hole in your pocket that you want to spend on a few appetizer size plates.

Don't miss it! - Edit
So many options. I had the fennel and gnocchi. Both are vegan without modification. Great service and amazing food.

Incredible dining experience - Edit
We sat at the counter and got to watch the plates being assembled. We had the 6 plate tasting menu and it was amazing. I’m going to dream about the gnocchi and the cabbage. 🤤

Absolutely Fantastic, Artisan Farm to Table Fabulous! - Edit
This is the best vegan food that we have found, second only to Vedge in Philly. The roasted beet app was well prepared. The Gnocci was out of this world and the Eggplant with Chestnut Mushrooms was other worldly delicious.

Incredible! - Edit
Got the tasting menu, and it was amazing
Read moreIceberg lettuce - might sound dull but it was so refreshing
Watermelon - delicious
Cabbage - second best dish
Beets - delicious
Gnocchi - most excited about this one, but probably my least favorite. Not actually that flavorsome outside of the sauce
Eggplant - the best dish. So good, a bit like an eggplant meatloaf? I'm not a huge eggplant fan but this was amazing
White chocolate mousse - not overly sweet, but very good

Absolute Best Vegan in CHS! - Edit
5 Star Restaurant for Vegans- the chef seems to put emphasis on Plant Based amazing dishes.
Read moreCan not say enough about Sorghum & Salt and Chef Tres Jackson. The owner/chef was there and made our dinner. About 1/2 the culinary menu was vegan dishes-which is so refreshing to have here in Charleston.
Everything is farm to table with the vegetables being the centerpiece. But there are meat eater options for your guests if they want- but all the vegan meals will be as delicious to them if not more!
This is the perfect romatic dinner night. A hidden gem-local favorite!

Creative and tasty food that comes with a price - Edit
Very interesting menu, food was creative and fun and very vegan-friendly. Staff was knowledgeable when I asked why certain dishes were not vegan and suggested how they could be veganized. Service was casual but friendly. Keep in mind that it's tapas-style, so you'll need to order at least 2 to 3 items per person for an adequate meal, which translates to $50 or more per head including tip and tax.

I would give this place 5 stars - Edit
A lovely little restaurant with fabulously unique food. Separate vegan menu. We got the house pasta, roasted acorn squash and for dessert we had a white chocolate mousse with pistachio. I mean... it was amazing!

Expectations met! - Edit
If we could give 5 stars we would! But they also serve meat. Once we told them we were whole-food plant based, the owner, Trace, handed us the vegan menu. We chatted about options. This guy truly loves what he does! Brad (chef) was a master. We were fortunate to watch the entire time from the chef’s counter. Brilliance and beauty in a little thing we call eating.

Expensive, but tasty - Edit
Very flavorful, but be aware this is a TAPAS restaurant. IMO, it's expensive. Three dinner rolls cost $9. A very small pasta salad was $19. After spending $45 on basically appetizers, we left.

My new favorite restaurant in town - Edit
We called ahead only 30 minutes before going to see if they had any vegan options, and when we got there, they had printed an entirely vegan menu for us with adaptations of some dishes and others that were already vegan. We sat at the chef's counter which I would highly suggest! It was fun to see them cooking and to talk to the chefs, who were really friendly. The food was some of the best I've ever had and the service was amazing. The menu changes all the time and incorporates seasonal produce from local farms. We went back again several times and it is always a treat! I would hands down give this 5 stars if it were possible to do so for a not completely vegetarian/vegan restaurant.

Seasonal and accommodating - Edit
I included a note in my Resy rez asking for vegan options and they brought me my own vegan menu with 6 options when we were seated. We ordered 5 of the 6 and were full and so happy. They post a list on the wall of all the farms nearby where they source their produce. The menu is very seasonal and local and they were extremely friendly and happy to accommodate us. The place is small, cozy, and quiet and our wine was lovely as well.

Cons: Pricey-ish? But not too bad for Charleston.

Will Make Vegan-Specific Menu - Edit
Went out for a nice dinner and called ahead to see if they could accommodate vegan diners. They were so quick to say that they absolutely could and it was a great surprise to see that they had made us a vegan-specific menu and adapted several of their menu items. It was also great to see that several of the items on the menu were already vegan. They were so nice and accommodating - definitely let them know and check it out!
