Serves meat, vegan options available. Restaurant at the W Hotel offers a vegetarian menu, some of which are vegan, and many others that can easily be made vegan by leaving out cheese or other dairy. Restaurant is very willing to accommodate. On the web page, check "local dishes and sides" for an entire page of vegetarian/vegan options. Try the vegan mofungo and vegetable pad thai. Loved it! Highly recommend!

Sorce is located in the W hotel. The setting is great, overlooking the water from atop a cliff. Even though the resort is one of the more luxury accommodations on the island the attire is casual for the restaurant.

The food is excellent, and they will make whatever you want! We read a blog that said they had a vegan mac and "cheese". When we arrived we saw it wasn't on the menu and requested it, and the next day they made it for us (though this one you have to request in advance as with cashew cream sauces the cashews must be soaked). Also had a vegan pad thai, and vegan mofongo and both were excellent. They had a whole section of the menu that is vegetarian and easily modified to be vegan.

The servers were very friendly and accommodating, and took care of everything promptly.

For breakfast they have a green smoothie made with almond milk. They also offer oatmeal (choice of almond or soy milk if requested), a fruit plate, and regular cold cereal with your choice of milk.

For lunch there are plenty of salads, a veggie burger (didn't have it and I forget if I asked if it was vegan), and a Greek wrap (leave off the feta - that was good).

Lots of choices!

Everything on the menus is clearly marked v, df, and/or gf (vegetarian, dairy free, and gluten free). Many vegetarian items are vegan to begin with, and many can eaily be modified to be so.

We spoke to David Ingles, the food and beverage manager, who helped arrange for the special mac and cheese dish (along with Cyrille Amini) and he said the restaurant will make whatever you want and they are very sensitive to the dietary needs of customers.

Even if you are not staying at the W I highly recommend a trip out there to dine at Sorce.
