Som Som but different - Edit
As soon as you say that you are vegan, a smile comes to Som's face followed by the statement: "Sure, no problem, very happy to"

Cheap good food - Edit
Very cheap and really good food. But small portions. We had to order seconds.

Most authenthic place on Koh Phangan - Edit
Found the place on Happy cow, sat down. Boss lady came after five minutes, we told her we were vegan, she said:”No problem!” with a big smile. The place looks like it’s falling apart but that just adds to the charm. She apparently didn’t had tofu but she hopped on her motorbike and came back with two portions in a couple of minutes. Food was great, she had wifi and spoke good English. Prices were too cheap and portions quite big. Part of the veggies are grown in her garden and she gets other from neighbours.
Read morePros: Cheap, Totally authenthic, Good English
Cons: Looks like a dump, avoid if you like fancy places

Som kann alles... mehr braucht man nicht zu sagen. Unsere Kinder haben ihr essen geliebt. Man muss nur zu ihr sagen was man möchte (vegi/vegan)

Yummy curries and more - Edit
What a delicious coincidence! Only because we were very hungry and this restaurant was the next to our new hotel we ended up here. We didn‘t expect a Seafood eating place to have many vegan options except for fries.
Read moreBut we were wrong. Inside the menu a whole page is called „Vegetarian Food“. So we gave it a try and ordered two different curries. By now we’ve tried all of them – they are even among the best we’ve ever eaten. Vegetarian spring rolls are not mentioned, but the owner Som cooked some for us anyway. A littly too oily maybe, but mainly fresh and delicious.
Som knows perfectly well, what the words vegetarian and vegan mean. No fish sauce, no dairy, no egg - no problem. She even uses two different pans to cook for us.
Upon request she made us some porridge – for the first time with coconut milk. Very tasty.
When she‘s out of tofu or something else, she simply jumps on her scooter and quickly gets some.
Overall a very welcoming place with a kind, open-minded and flexible owner who cooks yummy food.
Pros: Fresh food, Good value, Family business
