Favourite restaurant in Kyoto - Edit
I have been here 5 times to eat during our trip as it is so delicious and a relaxing experience. We have tried other famous soba places in Kyoto, but for us Soba Horiba has the best texture and taste and of course the biggest thing for me they are accommodating for vegans too! I love their classic simple soba dishes and also the seasonal vegan dish. The owners are hard working and kind. They trained under a soba maker in Tokyo & have spent years refining their soba practice. The noodles are handmade and hand cut from 100% buckwheat & they travel a 3 hour drive to get specific water to make the noodles with. They are very particular about soba. The noodles are so perfectly hand cut that I didn't realise they were cut by hand at first. The texture is perfect. There are so many thoughtful details when you visit this place- like the handmade pottery and organic drinks menu that show how much care and love they put into their beautiful little restaurant. I couldn't recommend this place enough.
