Cool vibe, delicious food - Edit
We went for dinner and enjoyed the Bar Brine menu. I was the only vegan in our group and there were plenty of options to satisfy everyone. The black lentil dip with scallions was a HIT with the group. I had the Maccherone pasta which was made with a butternut squash and cashew-based cheese - the pasta itself was fresh and cooked perfectly, but there was something off about the flavor. However, I really enjoyed the pear seaweed salad I had with it which had super fresh mixed greens. Overall loved this place and would definitely return to try more dishes!

A very cool place in NOLA - Edit
What a trendy little gem in Bywater. I had the best vegan mac & cheese ever here made with cashew cheese, and one of the most original mocktails - carrot/curry leaf.

Best NOLA Comfort Food - Edit
I wish I could give this restaurant 5 stars. It’s vegan options were amazing. The vegan blooming onion was outstanding! The maccherone was out of this world - so filling and so delicious I have to try and recreate it. We had to sit at the bar because they were so busy and we didn’t have a reservation. But that was fine because our bartender was so friendly and knowledgeable. He gave us a history lesson of NOLA and the area. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his non vegan meal as well.

Some good vegan options - Edit
We ordered takeout and thought based on other reviews there would be more vegan options but there were only 2. Still good food though - the rueben was tasty. Make sure you confirm your items are vegan because we were about to order the rice cakes that said vegan on the menu but they had been replaced with seafood ones.

Small plates - Edit
Don’t come hungry or you will need to buy extra!
Read moreWe started off with the buffalo tofu lettuce wraps, then ordered two entrees (mushrooms with polenta, eggplant pasta). But we were still hungry as the entrees are tiny. So we ordered and split the Rueben sandwich with fries and finally felt full.
The atmosphere is lovely, and the food really is delicious, so if you want to just try a small vegan dinner this is the place for you.
Pros: About half the menu is vegan
Cons: Small plates

Great upscale dinner! - Edit
We went at 6 on a Sunday and had no problem getting a seat at the bar, but it filled up quickly so reservations would be beneficial. The food was phenomenal, especially the vegan pasta (I ordered a second helping) and the fried onion. The portions are more like small plates, but priced accordingly and very flavorful. This dinner was the highlight of the trip and a nice change after spending a few days in the French quarter

Great drinks, atmosphere, and vegan food - Edit
Really lovely spot - feels neighborhood-y and casual, but just upscale enough for a nice date or evening out. Indoor/outdoor seating options, great cocktails, and plenty of vegan options (maybe more than half the menu?). The tempeh reuben was top-knotch - I'm not usually a fan of sauerkraut but it was excellent.

Great food! - Edit
I had the fried pickled onion, which was amazing, and the king trumpet mushrooms with grits. Both were delicious! Staff was very friendly. We got there right when bar brine opened at 5:30 !mand we got a table, but it sounds like you should have a reservation if you go for dinner.

Great Food, Great Atmosphere - Edit
I got the tofu taco and the medium sized Mac n cheese and both of them were outstanding!! The food had so much flavor and it’s hard to find anywhere that serves a vegan Mac n cheese and they hit a home run on this. It was very busy on a Saturday so I knew it would be good. The atmosphere was great with optional outdoor seating. I will definitely be back to try other menu options. #Veganuary

Basically a vegan restaurant with non vegan options - Edit
Walked about 3 miles from our hotel to get to this place and it was SO worth it. Funky outdoor patio vibe. The concept is like a vegan restaurant with some meat options (pretty much the opposite of how it usually is). I got the brussels toast and vegan Mac and cheese and both were to die for. So flavor blasted. My omni partner got the wagyu burger and he said it was also very flavorful. Also they have a few cats that are super friendly, one of them just jumped right on top of us and was happily met with some pets and scratches.
