Way to expensive, small portions - Edit
While the food was lovely, we couldn’t believe how small the food portions were. We were still hungry after our entree and carbonara.

Guess I'm a Little Salty - Edit
Love that this place is all vegan, buuuuut it was VERY salty. Food was all right, but tiny portions that are not worth the price tag. Maybe I had my expectations too high, but this place just didn't blow me away. It was very busy so if you do want to go here prepare to wait or call ahead. Seating is small and a bit awkward if your party is bigger then 1-2. Overall, meh. I wouldn't run back here.

Not at all what it used to be - Edit
It’s been a long time since I’d been here and I was looking forward to this dinner. The menu had changed markedly: what was once a Latin American restaurant was now an Italian restaurant. There were six of us, so we ordered six of the eight large share plates: fried Banbury eggplant ($22), braised mushrooms ($23), risotto verde ($23), spring ragu ($25), carbonara ($25) and vodka Napoli meatballs ($26). While these were not awful, I have to say they were unremarkable, with no particular dish that stood out or created any excitement. The fairly noisy environment isn’t conducive to conversation and it can take a while to get the attention of staff. At least three of my companions agreed with me that this place was not as good as it used to be, particularly given the dishes were neither large nor cheap.

Good but could be better - Edit
Some dishes were salty. Also lots of dishes copying meat like steak. Why bother. Just make the veggies the star.

Amazing! - Edit
Ok so the guy from smith & deli told me to come here for dinner and wow he was so right. So I went in on a Saturday night solo, fully booked but they said they had an hour spare and I could sit in then which was very greatful.

Plant based magic - Edit
A must visit for anyone in Melbourne. I kept pinching myself to check it was really vegan! I had carbonara pasta and it was so cheesy and creamy. The egg yolk and bacon were incredibly similar to the real thing, as were the ricotta and parmesan on my friends' meals. And I could not believe how amazing the tiramisu was - that is one of the things I miss the most and it was exactly like it used to be! So creamy and rich and smooth. Most definitely 5 stars from me.

Loved all the options and not having to worry about asking if something was dairy free or had hidden eggs etc like at vegetarian restaurants. Would definitely recommend! The garlic bread was phenomenal 😍

Excellent Casual Dining - Edit
"Best dessert I've ever had."
Read moreWe ordered a main and two starters, and all of them were excellent. The service was very efficient and friendly.
The highlights were the Shredded Caesar and the Apple & Sweet Miso Terrine dessert. The Farro & Lentil Insalada and Vodka Napoli & Meatballs were also excellent.
The atmosphere was casual with an alternative edge. I loved it so much I bought the t-shirt (literally).
Bookings essential. Will definitely go back.
Pros: Excellent Food, Excellent Service
Cons: Must book in advance

Amazing food! - Edit
My husband and I had a delicious dinner here. We shared a couple of pasta dishes and some garlic bread, and both ordered dessert. We were full after all of that, but each of the dishes were fairly small. I’d recommend ordering lots!!

Massively overrated and overpriced - Edit
The mains we ordered were enjoyable but should have been listed (and priced!) as starters. Both the savoury and sweet courses are elaborately described on the menu, with lots of exciting sounding ingredients (half of it not translated from Italian) but the execution isn't anything special - no layers of flavours (like at Transformer across the road which is infinitely better). The desserts especially were a let down - the tiramisu tasted of artificial cream; no hint of the liquer or coffee that was supposedly in it. The restaurant is also really loud and you don't get much elbow room. This was a second visit to see if it had improved from when it served Mexican - won't go again.

A Must-Visit Restaurant - Edit
Wow, this restaurant is amazing. It’s definitely busy and packed pretty much all the time, but it’s worth visiting! (Reservations are recommended.) We had the pasta con beef ragu, and the vodka red sauce and meatballs pasta. They were perfect! We liked the food so much we decided to buy the restaurant’s own cookbook (which, sadly, does not have the recipe for their vodka red sauce pasta). Everything is vegan, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the vibe and decor inside are great!
