Good but shared fryers - Edit
There's some lovely food choices here for vegans and quite a few things on offer can be swapped to vegan. Be aware though that any fried items are cooked in shared fryers, including chips which brings the choices down somewhat! #Veganuary

Slice of heaven - Edit
Honestly I don't have words for how much I love Slice of Cornwall.
Read moreThey have totally different vegan offerings from any other eatery I've been to which is incredibly exciting and the slice team are some of the nicest human beans you will ever meet!
I go to Slice all the time, they are honest about the fryers being shared at the moment and will always come back to you to make sure you know that you're vegan and that you're happy. They always know when I'm coming in and pop down a vegan menu for me and greet me like an old friend which I love!
I haven't tried all of the vegan options which is mad because I have been so many times but my one true love is the Proper Dirty Hummus with pillows (pics attached)
It's so popular but in the middle of nowhere they now have an overflow carpark across the road
I can't say much more as I'm hungry writing this - go check it out
Pros: Honest & friendly , Great vegan options , Beautiful surroundings

Cool and Quirky - Edit
Nice little cafe, unfortunately it is not dog friendly inside (and we got a bit wet sat outside - there is only 1 table with cover and it was taken) plenty of options, but they do fry in the same fryers as the meat etc, but it does state it on the menu and the waitress did inform me upon ordering.
Read moreI had the vegan hash, with cashew cream cheese (get it it's amazing and only 80p)
I would go again, and I would try something else!
Pros: Good vegan options , Friendly staff
Cons: Not dog friendly inside , No good cover outside - so prepare to get wet, Fried in the same fryer as the meat

Great breakfast spot - Edit
We had breakfast here. The vegan hash up and tofu chicken waffles. Both options were fantastic and very high quality. The waffles texture was amazing. Every part of the hash up was great, I loved the cabbage salad with it. Lovely outside seating. Would highly recommend.
Read moreUpdate June 2023: Visited this place again and they are still a very high quality food place with very good options for vegans, they've added more options and have a great bread called a baya, which I'd describe as a wrap sort of like a softer pizza type dough (stone baked), highly recommended!

Vegan waffles and bayo, 5 stars - Edit
Really unusual dishes, mostly waffles and bayo (sandwiches), with loads of vegan options, although some dishes share a frier with meat. I split waffles with tomato, courgette, cashew crew and bayo (sandwiches) with rosti and lettuce. The vegan waffles were buckwheat I think which gave it a lovely flavour and I really loved the crispiness of the rosti. Coffee was huge and creamy too. I won't be eating for the rest of the day after that feast.

Cons: Some dishes are cooked alongside meat

Vegans please beware!! - Edit
Vegans please beware!!
Read moreItems listed on the menu as VEGAN are fryed with the meat. They have a small text at the bottom of the menu that does clarify this but that does not make the items vegan. I did make them aware I was vegan when I ordered so the waitress could have let me know. I am a very strict ethical vegan and have never eaten meat so it was very upsetting for me and made me physically sick. They even say in the small text they are working on getting a vegan fryer so know what they're doing is wrong. So if vegan please be careful ordering here.

Nice location - Edit
Really lovely pretty cafe with nice seating area inside and out. Don’t know what main food is like but had cake and they were OK. The lemon cake was quite sour and the muffin a bit bland. It’s not obvious when they stop serving food on their website. We arrived at 3:30 thinking it shut at 5 (as website says 5 in summer) but it shut at 4 and stopped serving food at 3. Shame.
Read morePros: Lovely location, Lots of seating
Cons: Not clear on opening times and food service times, Staff wasn’t sure whether certain cake was vegan, Not many vegan options

Little gem - Edit
Great little gem off the side of the road. The full vegan breakfast seems to be a fresher take on the traditional English breakfast - I preferred the more modern take (Im not English) and my husband (English) preferred the more traditional aspects. The atmosphere was great - a modern but quaint cafe settled in amongst the greenery. Would recommend. Also, probably best to book ahead.
