We heard a rumor they’re closing soon, so glad we got to enjoy it. The cheesy garlic bread and the cheese Sicilian were our favorites on the menu. So much flavor!

We got the artichoke dip and vegan romesco pizza. Wonderful wood fired with unique toppings and availability! The dip was also fantastic. Great crunchy garlic chips!

I personally am not a fan of vegan cheeses on pizza. I’ve had time and time again been disappointed not at this restaurant, but generally speaking vegan cheeses have not really gone well for me.
Read moreThat being said, I read all the reviews saying the vegan cheese on the pizza here at slab does not leave the grainy taste on your teeth and the waxy feeling in your mouth so I said I’d give it a shot. Sure enough, it was super delicious. Wish I had another one right now and the leftovers were even better when I got back to my hotel room when the pizza was at room temperature the cheese didn’t bother me at all so happy that we tried it.

this slab was 10/10 (and I’ve had pizza around italy). Cheese that tastes good and doesnt stick to your teeth! Fluffy crust and bubbles (I know that takes expertise!) Go there rn!! I also recommend the bean/artichoke dip

The crust is everything - Edit
An omni friend and a lactose intolerant friend both recommended Slab and the Sicilian style pizza to me for my trip through Portland. I decided to take a slice to go and eat it on a sunset ferry ride around the islands. It was the perfect treat to end my day.
Read moreThe crust is what makes this pizza. It is oh so thick and oh so good. If you’re not one to enjoy bread and like to avoid carbs, the Sicilian style pizza is not for you. (I don’t know where there are thinner crust options here). But this was perfect for me.
My friend said she usually eats it over two meals. I must have a bigger appetite, because I easily finished it (but wished I had leftovers to enjoy the next day, haha).

Authentic Sicilian vegan pizza in New England - Edit
A . Several vegan options but the highlight was the Slab pizza itself. Also got the vegan tomato pesto pizza which was awesome and the vegan white bean dip with breadsticks. Have been dreaming of it ever since and can’t wait to come back.

Okay wow apparently Sicilian pizza is the best pizza ever, and I just didn’t know. They didn’t have the vegan pesto option when I went so I just had a pretty standard vegan cheese pizza. BUT go just for the crust and goodness. yum!! Also the slab is HUGE. Definitely big enough for 2 to share.

Menus are QR codes. I like the lack of wasteful paper menus. Service was fast. Not enough vegan options but the ones they have are phenomenal! They say one person per Sicilian pie and they mean it! If you haven’t guessed yet, pizza is my jam these folks nailed it!

Wow, wow, wow. We just experienced the most delicious vegan, thick crust pizza. The combination of the pesto, tomato and tapioca cheese was unlike any other vegan pizza we have tried. If you are really hungry, this is a pizza that you might not be able to share, so get your own.

Yes, they only have one vegan pizza, but it's so good it doesn't really matter. I actually much prefer this style to the NY thin crust. It's thick like a focaccia and has a soft, chewy crumb. The topping was perfectly seasoned and salted. I devoured mine in no time and could've easily gone for one more slice. If you like focaccia, you'll love this pizza. It was a little pricey at $13, though I'd say it's still within reason.

Their “slabs” of pizza can be expensive, but that being said, one hand slab I cannot finish in one sitting, so it’s like 2 meals. At first I was a little nervous when I read “tapioca cheese” was used on their vegan pizza, but don’t judge it by the sound of it. It was delicious. I’ve tried both and I think their vegan slab is better and more flavorful than their cheese slab (and I thought their cheese slab was delicious!)

I ordered four slabs of the vegan pesto pizza. Everyone in my group raved about it, but to me, it was really tomato-heavy. Loved the thick, focaccia-style crust, though! We ordered online and were a few minutes early, but they still had it ready. Great service!

Slab has recently added labeled vegan options to their menu and I’ve loved the vegan pesto slab with delicious tapioca ricotta. The dough is absolutely perfect every time. I’ve gone in a couple times and had their rotating vegan specials which are usually just different vegan slabs with in season vegetables. I highly recommend the white bean dip as an appetizer as well. A great place to sit outside and have a drink and delicious vegan food, especially when there’s live music.
