Epic food in a great location - Edit
Went there for a late lunch yesterday and opted for the Bimibap bowl and my friend got the vegan burrito. Staff was really friendly however unable to explain why the vegan cheese couldn't be put in the burrito? Well anyway it didn't really matter because the food was just amazing, I loved every element of the bowl and consider it reasonably priced for the amount of food that you get - I arrived there super hungry and left satisfied (the only thing I considered a bit pricey were the desserts....but couldn't fit any in anyway) 😄will definitely be back to try out their breakfast menu!😄

Loved it for breakfast and dinner - Edit
I was in St Kilda for a triathlon race and ended up coming here 5 times in 4 days. The big breakfast was one of my faves, lots of different tastes and textures. I also had the chocolate tart which was delicious. Nice texture and served with coffee cream. The Banoffee pie was deconstructed with a lot of coconut foam and not much substance- good if you needed a light dessert but not if you were expecting a filling crunchy base. I’d come back, there are still a few things I want to try!

Pricey more than nicey - Edit
We went there on a public holiday because a couple of other places were not opening until midday. The breakfast menu was all that was available and is surprisingly restrictive for Vegans considering it is a vegetarian establishment. We did ask if they would serve us from the starters/main menu 20 minutes prior to 12pm, but they refused, which is okay but no chips before 12pm is a bit daft.
Read moreFairly decent food, some interesting ideas and good flavours, reasonable serving size; but definitely room for improvement and more effort required. Over priced. 2 breakfasts and 2 coffees = $47 (including 10% surcharge due to public holiday)
Not quite living up to it's potential.
Coffee was bad.

This place is totally overrated. They have the smallest batch brew serves in all of Melbourne. We also had the spring rolls and a taco, both were basic

Good! - Edit
Sister of Soul is the cafe I MUST visit whenever I visit St Kilda Beach. Although I'd always opt a fully vegan restaurant over vegetarian restaurants, somehow I just enjoy the food & drink here so much and end up in the cafe. Love their soy capp, vegan dishes are properly indicated. I do hope it will become a fully vegan cafe someday SOON! I'd have given 5-star if only this was a 100% vegan restaurant 😉

Vegetarian cafe with plenty of vegan options. The French toast is delicious-not insanely sweet yet still indulgent. Mango lassi nice too. Beautiful park of St Kilda with a few outside tables.

Good Food - Edit
The food is always good. Extremely fresh and tasty. It’s just a shame about the customer service. I went for lunch today and it was very busy. The guy who seated us was not friendly at all. No smile, nothing. All the staff seemed more interested in us ordering and getting out so they could serve more people. There were tables down the back that were not apparently open, they could’ve easily seated at ten more people if they had opened it up. I will go for the food, but the bad service really puts me off.

Delicious gnocchi, curry not so much - Edit
Sister of Soul is one of my favourite vegan/vego restaurants, with a wide variety of choice and beautiful restaurant setting. I often choose the vegan gnocchi with spinach, pumpkin & almond “feta” - however I decided to branch out and try a curry. I opted for their new chickpea curry which had potatoes, peas, carrots, green beans and other veggies. I was a little disappointed when I had to add rice/roti as a side (seriously, who eats curry without rice...) but of course I still chose some brown rice to accompany my curry. The curry had a grainy texture and veggies weren’t as soft as I’d like - ate most of it but didn’t really have much of an appetite for it once I was relatively satiated. Maybe it’s because I’m Asian and hold a really high standard of Asian food - but if you’re looking for a somewhat realistic authentic curry, go elsewhere.
Read moreMy sister ordered the gnocchi, which was as soft, creamy and delicious as ever.
Service was also not the best, had to get water myself and waited a few minutes before being seated.
Pros: Gnocchi is amazing, Restaurant setting is nice, Large choice of food
Cons: Curry was very subpar, Had to order rice as a side to curry..., Service was slow

Yummy, varied food! - Edit
We visited here late on a Saturday afternoon and it was still buzzing. This place had a range of exciting vegan options and it was so hard to choose! Great decor too. Staff polite and efficient. The food came out quickly and was excellent- really tasty and generous portion sizes. Having said that, I would not call this place cheap- ramen was $18.50 and bibimbap was $17 (both vegan), which is more than what I would normally pay for those dishes in a non veg place, but having said that it was nice to be able to order them without the usual hassle of making a bunch of alterations!

Extensive menu and great food! - Edit
What a menu! There were so many things I'd love to try with heaps of vegan options. We had lunch at Sister of Soul and had the jack black burger and pumpkin gnocchi as well as a beer and a hot chocolate. All of it was delicious. Service was fast and staff were friendly and it's a lovely environment to enjoy a meal. Very keen to come back and try more of the menu!
