Plant friendly and accommodating. Fresh ingredients but a bit heavy on the oil

Accommodating overall to substituting ingredients

Pros: A few vegan options typical Thai options , Plentiful parking in back

Cons: Oily , Have to ask to sub fish based broth to veggie

Food is ok

We placed an order over the phone and came to pick it up and take it home. The prices are very reasonable. The tofu satay was good, the pad thai was very sour like maybe they put in too much lime, the mango sticky rice needed more sauce. Overall the food wasn't bad but it wasn't anything to return to

Pros: Easy to order vegan, Vegan dessert

Good food but difficult to communicate vegan needs

My family of four stopped at Lotus Thai Bistro after a trip to Legoland California. As we always do in Thai restaurants, we ordered all of our dishes and specified "fully vegan" - stating we wanted tofu, no egg, no fish sauce. One of our dishes came to us smelling fishy and with egg. We had to send it back, again specifying "vegan." It came back the second time with chicken! We felt bad having to send it back, again, but fortunately it came back correctly the third time. The staff was polite and apologetic. The food was great.

Soooooooooooo flavorfull

We eat here every time we visit the Carlsbad area! This is some of the best flavored Thai food we've ever had. Good veggie options. Prices are a little on the high side for us, but it's usually the splurge of the trip. Easy to find, not far from the freeway.

Pros: Such flavorful food, Easy to find and park

Cons: A little on the pricey side

Good for lack of a better option

Had some good vegan options and the waitress was very helpful. We were able to change the veggie soup from chicken broth to vegetable broth. You can also order mock duck, tofu, or extra vegetables with all of the entrees. We ordered a few noodle dishes like the pad see ew. They were very flavorful and we enjoyed most of the dishes. The only thing is you could tell one of our dishes was grilled with meat and the flavor was off putting.

Try the Mock Duck

The mock duck is our favorite part of this restaurant, a soy curd that is soooo tasty! They can make vegan dishes but be very specific about no egg, no seafood-based sauces or broths, etc. A little on the oily side with some dishes but that is so yummy now and then. I love how they do soy thread noodles!
