Great selection - Edit
Great selection of food and known for their Mala. They were originally located at 501 Hougang before moving to this location under their own brand, SHU Vegetarian. They have since expanded to numerous stalls islandwide.

Good food with good prices. They have a special menu after 10 PM, so if you are a hungry night owl vegetarian, this may be your only choice.

Curry yong tau foo at reasonable price - Edit
Affordable price with reasonable portion. Will be better if they provide the smooth, creamy curry which is not so oily instead.
Read moreUpdate: yong tau foo has been removed.
Tried their Indian rojak recently. It was served hot, with sweet spicy sauce. If only there is vege eg kangkong than all fried item?? We are vegetarians afterall 😅
Nasi lemak for supper was gooood as well.
Will be good if dishes can be labelled as vegan-friendly.

Great veg supper place - Edit
Their Indian rojak is a standardized mix of 5 fried items. My favorite item would definitely be the fried broccoli! It was a surprise as I don't usually see fried broccoli in Indian rojaks. The items were fried quite nicely too!
Read moreOrdered Mala Xiang Guo and shared it with my brother. We both agree that the one we had in Green on Earth tasted better. Even though this MLXG has the numbness from the peppercorn, it wasn't as aromatic and fragrant in terms of it's spices. Overall it was still pretty okay, especially being a vegan option for late night cravings/suppers!
Pros: Cheap & tasty vegan/vegetarian food, Open till 4am, ideal for supper

Good varieties of dishes - Edit
A pretty big menu, other than that, they have daily specials. A lot of fresh vegetables options as we don’t like to eat too much mock meat. Carrot cake was delicious too!

Wide variety! - Edit
Back at SHU vegetarian - Jalan Kayu. Love its wide variety of both vegan and vegetarian options. Everytime we visit, they serve pretty fast after we ordered. I find their zhi char full of flavours and each dish having their own distinct flavours. We frequent this outlet as it is near where we live and their takeaway dishes are well portioned too!

Great food, fast service - Edit
Our to go to place when we are too lazy to cook. The food is delicious and portions are big, so good value. The place is not particularly appropriate for a romantic dinner date though ;).

Delicious food, fast service - Edit
We arrived here at 21:20 just in time for last orders at 21:30 (they actually close at 22:00) and we ordered quite a few dishes, but everything came out super quickly and nice and hot! Each dish was superb, especially the Roti Prata (not made with butter or ghee, as traditional Prata is made, so yay for us vegans) and curry and the Thai Chili Beancurd - both had wow factors.
Read moreWe ordered medium sizes for all dishes, and they were good sized portions. All full of flavour, each having their own distinct and tasty flavours and they patiently waited for us to finish our meal while they closed the restaurant. Highly recommend ordering the Roti Prata, the Thai Chili Beancurd and the "Chicken" and Ginger.
Pros: Lots of vegan options, Fast and good service, Very tasty

Numerous Choice - Edit
Asian-Chinese Cuisine. Authentic Singapore Chi-Zhar. Famous for their MALA bowl. Near to the bus stop. Can be quite crowded during dinner time / weekends. Restaurant is quite clean. The dining chairs can be quite tiring if seated for too long, as there’s no back rest to lean. SVC Staff can be seem as not very friendly.
Read morePros: Lots of options. Individual noodles / rice. , Or dishes available.
Cons: One way street. Need to quickly drop off. , Nearest car park area - need to walk 5-7mins.

Decent food! - Edit
This restaurant used to be at hougang 501 but shifted over to Jalan kayu awhile back! Most famous for their roti prata, sweet & sour pork, fried yam ring! Good variety offered, clean and bright ambience, but food might be a little too oily overall! Prices have increased since its hougang days!
Read morePros: good variety, short waiting time, clean bright environment
Cons: incredibly inaccessible at ulu Jalan kayu, prices on the high side
