I live for the mushroom shwarma

Israeli street food local chain. It's so good, especially the mushroom schwarma sandwich. Juicy and meaty. I'm also a huge fan on the chicken nuggets, fried shoukn (breaded and fried oyster mushrooms), shouk burger (their own recipe) and falafel. I could do with less seasoning on the fries.

I'm not a huge dessert person, but I always get the Malabi (coconut milk pudding, raspberry syrup, rose water, toasted coconut, mint.) The vicinity coconut milk is not sweet and so it evens out the sweetness of the syrup and rose water.

Can eat it, take out, or get delivery.

I *will* go back to Rockville, lol

I love bowl-style eating like this and once tried to go to the Georgetown Shouk but could not find a parking space, lol. It's in a busy plaza off the highway next to a beautiful MOM healthy supermarket, so parking is easy. You can get your meal in a pita or bowl, and they don't skimp on the sauce. Easy to order online or at their touchscreen inside. Portions are not too big or too small. The one thing I might want would be for the delicious kale salad to be a little more cut up so you can easily eat it without dragging all the leaves out, lol. I love fast/casual places like this and that the sign inside referenced no cows in the food.💗

Unique flavors.

The food is good, but often heavy (too much oil).

Upscale street food

Update 2024: great spot, but not the strongest in the area.

I've loved everything I've had here. Would always recommend the sandwiches over the bowls, though. The bowls are meh.

Not to be missed!

Delicious! I got lunch here a couple of times when I was in the area for a few days. The fancy falafel pita was amazing—so much flavor in every bite in a fluffy, soft pita. The shouk burger was delicious. I recommend adding on schug sauce if you enjoy a small kick of heat.

Delicious pitas

Absolutely love Shouk, the pitas are so tasty, the smashing potatoes are a tasty new addition. Can’t get enough of the Malabi dessert. I haven’t tried the bowls yet. Only complaint is - please bring back the crab cake sandwich and sausage.

Delicious But Heavy on the Salt

Everything is 100% tasty. My only concern is the sodium – specifically the sauces and the spiced fries.

So good that I had to come back

Shouk is so good that I had to try their food again at another location. The quality of the food is very consistent, and I preferred the overall experience at this location more than the location on K street in DC. The food is ready quickly, and it's so delicious. I recommend the shouk burger and getting the schug sauce to add on to it. Their best side is certainly the hummus with pita. Make sure to add on another piece of pita, though, because they only give one piece along with a fairly large container of hummus. If you don't pay for extra pita, expect to have a lot of hummus left over for later.

For dessert, I tried the choco-cardamom cookie. I was curious if I'd be able to actually taste cardamom, and it was definitely noticable, so I was satisfied. Also, it was a soft cookie that tasted fresh instead of stale like a lot of fast food style restaurants.

Pretty good

It’s been a while since I’ve been here but I remember the food definitely tasted good and they get your order out without too much wait. That said I haven’t gone out of my way to go back as there are lots of small shops that are better
Also, the regular falafel sandwich is better than the other more creative versions they had

A different place with delicious dishes

Falafel is good compared to falafel dishes that were not prepared in the Middle East. The shawarma and schnitzel are very tasty.

Pros: Delicious and reasonably priced

Cons: Not big portions.

A delicious experience!

We were excited to try this restaurant and it turned out to be a great decision! In total we tried the shwarma, fried shouk'n, falafel, fries, and cardamom cookies. So delicious! All the food tasted very fresh and each meal was highly customizable. We all went with the bowls but next time I'll definitely give the pita a shot, the fried shouk'n in particular seems like it would lend itself super well to a pita experience. One note if you're a spice fan: two people in our party ordered the same meal but requested one spicy and one not spicy, and they weren't able to distinguish which was which, so it's possible neither was made spicy or that the spice is especially mild. Overall we had a great experience and would definitely eat here again!

Pros: Delicious food, Generous portions, High Quality

Cons: Spicy food could be spicier

Delicious food that's vegan

Well, you know, this place was already successful in DC, so of course it's going to be delicious in Rockville, too! And, yes, I love it even though it's in Maryland and not just DC.

Who doesn't love a good bowl of falafel? My favorite still has to be the cauliflower za'atar - the cauliflower is cooked just right and spiced perfectly. It's not too salty and not overpowering with the flavors of spices. It's just right! I love it! You can get this bowl with greens or rice and lentils or a combination. Other deliciousness includes oyster mushrooms battered and fried or just grilled. They have wonderfully flavored sauces like harissa mayo and Shouk sauce and creamy tahini.

Side dishes include kale salad, spiced French fries, sweet potato fries and falafel. You can also have a hearty side of lentil soup.

More classic versions of food might be to order pitas with the same options as the bowls- falafel, shawarma, shouk burger, veggies, mushrooms. Yum and portable and easily edible without a fork!

This place is awesome! Go check it out for a fast casual meal that is plant based and bursting with flavor.

Pros: vegan, cauliflower

Cons: needs more dessert options

Great flavors

This is an Israeli, all-vegan, fast casual place that always leaves me satisfied. I’ve tried the hummus, the veggie burger, falafel, pitas, lentil soup, oyster mushroom ‘chicken’, spice fries, and sausage. With the exception of the mushrooms (oyster mushrooms just aren’t my thing unfortunately), everything has been amazing. Their food is all made in house from fresh ingredients and is full of flavors. Their cardamom cookies are also fire🔥🔥

Fast, Casual, Yum!

Randomly stopped in, so glad we did. Staff was helpful explaining the various dishes. So many fantastic options we over ordered, it was like going to the grocery store hungry. Had to have this and that! Nothing was disappointing. Can’t wait to go back!

Pros: So many choices, Easy to order with helpful staff, Plenty of parking

Cons: So many delicious options it was hard to decide!

Would try again !

Been wanting to try this place for a long time! I was a little let down with the entree I picked but I def would return to try their other options. I got the mushroom shawarma and it was just ok - it says it was supposed to be served with pickled onions and a mayo like sauce but it was a bit bland. I would def go back and try the burger or sausage or a different bowl. I also ordered the lentil soup which was delicious.

Pros: Large menu, Easy tablet ordering in store, their focus on eco-friendly and sustainability

Cons: Bowl was a little bland, Prices are a bit steep

Yummy yet different

I love Shouk. And I loved how they held up and became innovative during the pandemic.
They would deliver to our neighborhood drop off. So many people ordered there that they could not keep up! It was great.
The food was yummy and loved their falafel burgers.
They are opening up a restaurant near us!

Pros: great food, staff is great

Cons: delivered by food delivery food was cold

Tasty and Healthy-ish

Just went to the opening of the new Shouk location in Rockville Maryland. I was pleasantly surprised that the food was really good… and it’s vegan.

I ordered thru the app and it was ready and waiting for me. The menu isn’t overwhelming and you can get healthy food or make it not-so-healthy if you want.

The veggie burger wasn’t the beyond burger (which I do like) but rather a healthier bean/grain base, and it had a lot of flavor. We also got the mushroom shawarma on rice and lentils (so yummy) and the shouk’n Caesar salad which was also delicious.

There’s a Mom’s Organic Market next door, so I could get a few groceries too.

Now we have 3 vegan restaurants in Rockville. I’m very excited.

Please eat here so it sticks around. We need MORE vegan places like Shouk in Rockville (and Bethesda too). Remember animals are friends not food.
