I had the vegan feed me - which came with 3 entrees, 3 mains, shared rice, shared pumpkin and a dessert!! So much food - each dish tasted awesome.
Definitely a place to go for a vegan feast when in Townsville.
Great staff.

There was quite a few vegan options on the menu. Ordered the mushroom spring rolls and the bao buns for takeaway. The spring rolls had a nice flavour however were very salty on the outside. The bao buns were average. Not sure if I would go back since it was quite busy and I waited a ridiculously long time for the food.

The whole Earth section of the menu is vegan and so is all their aoli. 8 delicious sharing dishes to choose from. 2 dishes between 2 of us filled us up. Wanted to give them 5 stars but Happy Cow site won’t allow me.

I was so excited to try Shorehouse finally. And even more so when I found out about the Earth section of the menu dedicated to vegans/veges. Unfortunately I was quite disappointed with the dishes we had.
Read moreWe tried the truffle mushroom spring rolls- very delicious actually, but could have been any vegetarian spring roll I’ve had before. Nothing special about them at all.
Next to arrive was the white bean and yam fritter. Which had a nice flavour but a strange slimy texture to it inside with an uncooked carrot crunch along side.
Then came our side of greens which were nice at first taste but then became very salty. The final dish was the mushroom noodles which we actually couldn’t finish as they were so greasy/oily and also salty too. The mushroom and snow peas were ok on their own just the noodle was extremely salty.
Another friend had the crab noodle and they were very oily too.
A trip to the loo was the end to my evening as I am not used to a lot of oil any more.
Beautiful restaurant and staff, but perhaps the ‘Earth’ menu needs some tweaking and taste testing before being sent out?

The bao and the green tea tofu were delicious. Really nice location too, I sat outside on the verandah looking out into the bay😄lots of vegan options on the menu in the "Earth" section.

Shorehouse has a good vegan menu. Everything on the 'earth' menu is vegan, there is also some sides and a desert that are vegan too with some items marked as vegan option.
Read moreOur first meal out was the truffle mushroom spring rolls, and they came out super quick! But hey we're unfortunately warm and not piping hot as you would expect for a freshly deep-fried item. They still tasted delicious and the sauce was amazing.
Second meal out was the shu mai, very nice and the sweet sauce went well with it.
Third meal was the summer squash bao, really fresh, nice soft bao and the filing was delicious.
Our final meal was our "side" of vegan fried rice. It came out so late after all our food it was just weird that my husband and I were just sitting there eating a bowl or rice. Also would have been nice to see a price reduction considering these was no chicken or prawns in the dish, we still got charged $19 for rice and vege. Please don't call it a side dish if it's going to be the last meal out, also not sure why it took so long to get out?
The atmosphere is good, the food was delicious. We will be back but we were a bit disappointed with the warm spring rolls and the late rice side dish.

Read moreFull seperate veg/vegan menu clearly labelled - as is the wine! The earth menu now boasts more options that the meat menus. All are delicious. I love the turmeric potatoes & the yam! They also do delicious cocktails! A must for any occasion.

All of the ‘Earth’ section of the menu is vegan, plus some sides and an option to veganise the dan dan noodles. My favourites are the chickpea curry, tumeric potatoes with aioli and the avocado wonton tacos, but everything is amazing!

Unfortunately our experience last night wasn’t the best. To be told it was a set menu which none of us could see that online, that’s ok you can live with that. The entrees came out so fast and they were good. Well the mains on the other hand took so so long to get to us. We questioned one of the options not being served and the response was oh yeah we ran out so we gave you greens bowl. 2 very small bowls of greens for a table of seven. Not sure will be back anytime soon, even though what we did eat was enjoyable. Service and communication is still part of the service.
