Great restaurant - Edit
Was here for dinner and really enjoyed my food! The location is convenient and the interior is nice! I actually haven’t tried their soba - even though they are known for them - but what I had was great! Yummy bento box so recommend you to try that for sure and also the Aubergine as a starter! The portion size was huge! Amazing flavour of the Aubergine. Don’t miss out on the vegan ice cream- I tried the mixed option: Hojicha and matcha (you can have two scoops of the same of mixed) and I am drooling! Yum ice cream

Beautiful thick broth - Edit
The Red Dragon Soba has a phenomenal creamy soy milk broth. It also has a lot of spice! The three chillies weren’t a lie, so be warned. Powering through the heat revealed a lot of flavour though.
Read moreTried a little bit of the Tempure Soba as well. I’ll probably get this one next time, the broth had a great balance of salty and sweet to it and the Tempura veggies were a nice mix of textures.
I think my most pleasant surprise was the dessert though. Incredibly well priced, perfectly portioned to share and I cannot speak well enough of the crunchy fried buckwheat and the sweet sauce on it.

Traditional Soba, amazing flavours - Edit
I absolutely loved this place and will definitely come back, I ordered the cold soba with tempura veggies which was so traditional and fresh. I really loved this dish, but most of all the eggplant was my favourite. It was cooked to perfection and flavoured so well. I also loved the modern interior! Definitely recommend ❤️

Yummy soba and hojicha icecream - Edit
I had the vegan tororo mushroom soba, noodles was good and the soup was light which was exactly what I wanted, however, the mushrooms was a bit oily for me (my husband liked it though). Also had the roasted Japanese tea icecream which I think is hojicha - so delicious! The roasted buckwheat on top made it even better. Would come back again next time we're in Melbourne.

Authentic Japanese - Edit
I took a gamble on this restaurant and was completely blown away! Their in-house made buckwheat noodles were so divine, made fresh daily with Tasmanian seed. The buckwheat grinder is out on display in the entryway for all to see. Very cool!
Read moreThe staff carried with them a delightful attitude toward their service & the quaint restaurant itself offered cozy indoor seating as well as street dining with gas heaters for cold evenings.
The Vegan TanTan Soba was incredible, as was their Nasu Dengaku. Overall this restaurant was worth the gamble as it takes the lead in my small list of favourite eats in Melbourne.
I will most definitely be back!
Pros: Lots of vegan options. , Friendly service, Fresh ingredients
Cons: Price on the higher side (but good quality)
