Italian style

Shi-a-wa-se 幸福蔬食餐坊Shi-a-wa-se is their name, it’s a Japanese word means lucky and gratitude. If you are vegan, please let them know in advance, the only thing that label as vegan on the menu is curry rice but I believe that they can customize a lot more dishes into vegan friendly if you let them know in advance, it states clear that “please let them know if you do not consume eggs and dairy”. It states clear that “please do not bring outside food and pets in the restaurant”.

Wouldn’t return

Just an okay vegetarian restaurant. Non-vegan items are not clearly marked, but 炒意麵 is ovo-veg, all of the 焗烤 are lacto-veg, 咖喱素排飯 is ovo-veg, 荷包蛋 is an egg, anything with 起司 is lacto-veg, anything with 蜂蜜 contains honey, anything with 煉乳 contains dairy, and 巧克力鬆餅 may contain dairy.

My friend ordered the fried instant noodles, and the portion size was really small. They seem to use the same mixed frozen vegetables (peas, diced carrots, and corn) in multiple dishes (his noodles, my garden vegan Alfredo pasta).

Service was lukewarm at best. They have very short hours during the summer months: only from 11:00-14:00.

Pros: closest affordable option close to hiking areas

Cons: uninspired, inconsistent portion sizes, non-vegan items aren’t labeled
