Compact little cafe - Edit
As I walked into the cafe there was a very narrow entry and a sign said please wait to be seated, as soon as I got in people were ready to leave which was very beneficial for me as I could get seated, as it was a Sunday the cafe was very busy. The staff were extremely polite and friendly and I was seated in the back of the cafe, the cafe is very small and compact, the cafe has a welcoming atmosphere with interesting decor and style, when I looked at the menu I didn’t see any indications of vegan/vegetarian or any allergies that were in the food, I had to go up and ask and even they weren’t sure what was vegan, I only asked what could be vegan because of the reviews I saw people wrote on here before going, the only 2 vegan options that I’m aware of from what they told me which I already knew was the Houmous & Vegetables panini and the Vegan Chocolate Fudge Cake. I ordered The Vegan Chocolate Fudge Cake and a latte with oat milk which was very nice but it came with what I assume was a marzipan biscuit, which I’m assuming wasn’t vegan. my girlfriend got the Houmous & Vegetable Panini and an oat milk Cappuccino. When the food came my girlfriends panini came with coleslaw which wasn’t vegan so she left that and what the coleslaw contaminated. When we went to pay there was also a tax option to be added onto the final bill, not to mention that the prices for the food and drinks were a bit much in my opinion but I suppose you’re paying for the interior as well.

Carelessness and lack of knowledge towards veganism - Edit
Lovely quaint cafe that was bustling with customers, and had barely any seating left.
Read moreStaff didn't seem sure as to what was vegan, only when asked did they give a half hearted response of oh yeh it is. Later when my food came there was coleslaw (non-vegan) in it and with my coffee what looked to be a non-vegan biscuit, I wasn't impressed.
Only a couple of questionably vegan options, they were questionable as the service seemed a little sloppy. Despite what I have mentioned about this venue so far the panini was actually okay but i wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again. I recommend checking out Java cafe and Sanders Yard instead if you are looking for tasty/trustworthy vegan food.
On a positive note the coffee was decent.
At just over £7 for the panini that was lacking in filling I would say slightly over priced, plus they wanted a tip when I went to pay at the till.
Pros: Non-dairy milks available, Old fashioned feel
Cons: Lack of knowledge and carelessness , Overpriced food

Needs an upgrade - Edit
They were completely clueless as to any allergies in their food. One minute they said the bread had milk in and the next they said it didn't, which made me not feel confident that they knew what a vegan diet was. The vegan option we did have was very boring and bland. They did say they had oat milk but we ended up not having a coffee in the end.

Tea and cake - Edit
I had a delicious chocolate fudge cake and tea here. Such a quirky little cafe, well worth a visit for the ambience alone.

Okay if you just want a vegetable sandwich or a jacket potato😄 - Edit
Sat down, waited 15 minutes for someone to come to the table to take an order. No visible marked vegan options on the menu so had to ask.

Quite Elementary - Edit
So this is on Happy Cow I see. Been coming here for years mainly for a tea or coffee but also a bite to eat on a couple of occasions. I tend not to pay for tea out anywhere as I think it’s a complete waste of money but I have to say Sherlocks provide an enjoyable and traditionally English tearoom experience. Food-wise, a red pepper and hummus panini isn’t exactly exhilaratingly inventive but it did the job. Lovely quaint place, an efficiently run fussy tearoom with staff who wear aprons. I like it but it’s not going to make the vegan wall calendar.
