Delicious and kid-friendly! - Edit
We had such a fabulous experience getting the Windsor Tea at Shelly’s. The owner was incredibly accommodating and we were able to enjoy vegan versions of everything on the menu, including our daughter’s princess tea! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and we will definitely be back.

Vegan options with no compromises!! - Edit
As a vegan, I never expected I'd actually be able to enjoy a full high tea experience in the US. I wasn't expecting how perfect it was!! I made a reservation last minute and got backed up by traffic, but they were so understanding about it and got us in anyway!
Read moreThe food-- at most establishments with a vegan option that don't specialize in it, you don't get the full experience that everyone else does and have to sacrifice for it being vegan. Here there were NO sacrifices made -- everything, from the delicious cheese sandwiches to the clotted cream and cakes, were on par with the non vegan option my partner got. It was better than most pastries, etc I've had before going vegan. I really felt like they designed this experience with dietary inclusivity in mind, and it was evident in the experience. They also had a gluten free option for those who need it! And TONS of delicious tea options.
There was an adorable golden retriever which was a huge plus. I loved the leisurely pace of everything that encouraged us to take our time and relax, unlike most restaurants/cafes in the US that want you out the door asap. I left wanting to move to this town so I could go back regularly, and the most relaxed I've ever felt. The service and people were wonderful, the food was wonderful, the tea was wonderful.

Wonderful Tea Room! - Edit
Stopped in for a late lunch and this is just what I needed. A wonderful break with a variety of tea sandwiches and a scone with vegan clotted cream, butter, and jam. 1930’s 1940’s vibe music and a lovely atmosphere. So glad I came by and will definitely be back.

Shelly and her husband are lovely people and have an incredible selection of vegan and gluten free choices. The sandwiches were all delish, the clotted cream (coconut milk based) had even my non vegan wife drooling. The maple oat bar was sooooo good that i got a second one for that evening. So many choices for tea and they were totally accommodating knowing we had our 3 1/2 year old and 15 month old twins (the four of us are vegan). The kids loved the tea sammys!

This little tea room is an afternoon event. My daughter and I went for a proper English afternoon tea and that is just what we got. The vibe is so relaxing from the music to Shelly herself. It was the best experience. To too it off the vegan options were amazing. The vegan afternoon tea came with four different finger sandwiches, a plain and a raisin scone, lemon drizzle cake, Victoria sponge cake, a flapjack(oat and maple cake), clotted cream(coconut based), vegan butter and strawberry preserves. As well as your choice of tea and oat milk. The owners are so kind and the whole experience was just delightful.

Fun Lunch Experience! - Edit
The service was amazing, although slow (it was very busy, full tea room)! They were very friendly and pleasant. There is a full vegan menu and staff is very knowledgeable about what veganism is. The vegan finger sandwiches are pricy but tasty and they have over 100 teas. The Sunshine Medley fruit tea and the peach black tea are delicious. Got a couple treats to go as well! They were very busy, I highly recommend calling ahead and making a reservation! I will be back next time I am in Massachusetts for sure!
