Colorful and icy - Edit
Shave Ice produces a Hawaiian-style frozen dessert, which consists of shaved ice, shaped like a dome and then topped with various syrups.
Read moreThere are different flavors to choose from. And you can even fill your shaved ice with a scoop of vegan ice cream. The syrups are artificially flavored and have eye-catching bright colors. Vodka and rum are also available as toppings.
Generally, the dessert is refreshing and a fun thing to eat in the summer.
But as someone who loves Korean shaved ice (Bingsu), this kind of shaved ice is somewhat lacking. At the beginning, the freshly shaved ice looks soft and fluffy but then they press it into shape… And the liquid topping makes the shaved ice develop a gritty and icy texture...
Prices are a bit higher if you compare it to simple ice cream.
The store is a small, yellow-colored hut that operates only during the warmer months. This store is located by the river Spree, at a corner of James Simon Park. While the store sells only for take-away, the park offers options for sitting down. #Veganuary
