Lots of weevils flying around, overpriced, sells beef - Edit
Do not eat here.
Read moreFirst: there are a LOT of weevils flying around and many inside the cupcake window. Grossed me out knowing it was probably in the flour but id eaten already 🤢
The restaurant tries to lean into an “eco/hippie” vibe but sells beef, fish, eggs, etc. so this is extremely fake and performative, to me as an ethical vegan this is much more irritating than carnist restaurants who do not pretend to care about animals. It even says on the menu “all vegan except for beef, seafood, dairy options” like lol ok. So, vegan except when you dont want to, got it.
They make bread on site yes - and a loaf of sourdough sells for $14. Considering what it costs to make sourdough in bulk this is price gouging, but i wouldnt eat it for free because of the weevils.
Finally the person who took my order seemed super spaced out , staring at me weirdly, like they werent sure why i was there almost. definitely made me feel uncomfortable.
Overall i will not return and strongly suggest you do not eat there due to health concerns with their uncontrolled bug infestation.
Cons: Bugs in and on the food, Pretends to be eco conscious but isnt at all, Overpriced

Baked Goods @ Farmers Market Stall - Edit
Note: this review is for the farmer’s market stand in Edmonds, and one baked good, so take it with a grain of salt for the actual restaurant.
Read moreAfter stumbling across the stand, I was pleasantly surprised to see everything was vegan and gluten-free. There were multiple options, but I ended up picking a mango scone. Unfortunately, my scone was just okay. It was very dense and slightly salty. However, for Edmonds, I appreciated the vegan selection! I would try their baked goods again and hopefully have a better experience.

Delicious, especially for GF - Edit
Vegans from Vancouver, BC passing through Skagit; we found this eclectic place on Happy Cow app. Pleasantly surprised how good Shambala burger and chocolate cupcake were being gluten free. The best GF bun I’ve ever had. Moist, not dry. Cupcake too, was very tasty. Would come again and recommend. Great option in the area. Plenty of seating too.

Great options - Edit
Nearly everything can be made vegan on the menu. Also gluten free which is nice to be inclusive. Pancakes still tasted great even as I cried into them. Would come again. Free wifi, clearly labeled items. Interesting art too.

Nice place with lots of vegan options and a bakery with organic bread. Wish’n chips was good and soup of the day(vegetable mix) was just okay. The herb potatoes were the hit and so yummy.

Great Mount Vernon Option - Edit
Always go to their stand at the Bellingham Farmer's Market, was finally able to make it to their brick and mortar today. Got food to go. Huge menu, everything is or can be made vegan. Got the Chickn't Biscuit Sandwich and Pineapple Caesar Salad. Sandwich was a little dry but still good. The salad was my fave! Interesting and delicious. Will def be back to try more things. A gem in Mount Vernon for sure.

Needs better staff training - Edit
Decided to come here to eat due to all the vegan options. The restaurant had one other customer in it upon our arrival. You have to order at the counter and my wife went first. After she ordered the person working asked me a question about her order that my wife mentioned but she didn’t hear. Then she asked her several other questions about the order after she had already sat down. I ordered the breakfast sandwich (vegan of course) and herb roasted potatoes. The person taking my order seemed confused by my potatoes request and asked me to point it out on the menu.
Read moreOur food arrived and my breakfast sandwich had a beautiful looking egg on it. Believing that this was too good looking to be vegan, I asked and it was in fact not vegan. This resulted in me waiting another 7 mins for my food in which my wife nearly finished her order before mine arriving.
Besides service, the food was good. I would definitely visit more if in the area.
Side note: there isn’t a bathroom for customers in the restaurant. Instead you have to go to the side of the building into some office building to the 2nd floor.

Many vegan options - Edit
Tried the falafel gyro which was good. Got a few baked items. The cookies were decent but the cinnamon roll with cardamom was dry. Maybe it was just an off day as people usually rave about them. I appreciate that the owners are environmentally and food allergy conscious.

Found a hair in my food. My veggie burger was under cooked only tasted like red peppers and the bun was as hard as a rock.. I’ve given them a few chances but every time it’s worse…

Excellent Vegan baked good experience - Edit
We tried the baked good at the company’s Sunday farmers market stand in Ballard. It was a huge, raisin cookie sandwich with Oreo-style cream filling. Delicious. Three of us shared it. The grains used were neither gritty, as experienced with too much coconut flour, or starchy, as experienced with too much tapioca flour. In other words, they got it just right. Staff answered questions about flours used.

Awesome Vegan Options - Edit
Eating out with family members who are gluten-free, not fans of ethnic food and me being vegan is never easy. I was thrilled to find this place after visiting some tulips.
Read moreIt was fairly busy and service was a bit slow but the gluten-free bread and cookies were impressive!
The cashew nacho cheese sauce was great too.
Overall, we will plan on coming back!

My wife is allergic to lots of things like soy, gluten, corn, you name it. We also eat plant based so it was easy to find a good meal for our family. The Veggie Burger was great.

This is my favorite restaurant & I live an hour away! We discovered Shambala about a month ago & we've eaten there three times since! I'm allergic to gluten & vegan so eating out is a challenge at times. It's so easy at Shambala & delicious! Everything we've eaten here has been very good! FYI: they don't use any soy products.

SO GOOD!!! So many vegan options and EVERYTHING is gluten free! It can be quite challenging to find both and they do it so well! Best bread EVER!! The bakery case was full of gf and vegan treats (cookies, cupcakes, cinnamon rolls, scones...) I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant and bakery. Amazing food, staff, service and aesthetic! New favorite place!

So good and amazing staff! - Edit
Love the food! My husband and I are both vegan and ordered a philly steak and shiitake teriyaki sandwich - vegan options. There was some confusion and the shiitake sandwich came with dairy cheese. The person who got us the food was really good about checking and making sure that the cheese was vegan. They re-did the sandwich for us with vegan cheese - I almost want to give them an extra star for making sure that our food was vegan which meant a lot. The staff is vegan too which helps with suggestions. I would definitely come back for the delicious food and the people :)

Best food, Ever!!! - Edit
What's not to like? Being a vegan and eating out has been, well impossible! I will not eat round up ready, GMO food. Finding a place that provided fresh healthy food is near impossible. Shambala has a great Variety of food to choose from. They have only just started. The full restaurant will be provide a larger selection, which I can't wait to try!!! This is a must do/go to place for those looking for really good, healthy/fresh food!!!

Amazing Find!! - Edit
So glad we didn't miss this place while searching for lunch. It has two different store fronts, not sure what the difference is between the two. We went to the smaller one. While they are not completely vegan, the majority of their menu AND baked goods are (when we went, only one item in their display case of baked goods wasn't vegan!). We tried their burgers -- so tasty! They also have really good golden milk and cinnamon rolls. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a yummy place to eat at any time of the day!

Stopped by once, and cannot wait to come back. Had their hash with their vegan nacho sauce (very good, and look forward to their nachos).
Read moreEverything is well labeled, staff is very friendly. And they will soon open a connected establishment with alcohol and much more indoor seating!
Gluten free pastries were all vegan at the time (but are not always vegan, which our server mentioned to us)-- but we would have preferred vegan gluten-full options!

Amazing food and service! - Edit
I have visited this restaurant twice now and left extremely satisfied both times.
Read moreThe first time I had the Shamburger and Vegan Nachos, both were out of this world. My picky teenager loved them too!
The second time I brought my husband and we tried the Italian pizza. That was the best pizza I have had since going vegan! They also sell the crust so you can make one at home, they also offer take & bake so all you have to do is throw it in the oven!
Don't even get me started in their bakery case! Most (if not all) are vegan and so decadent!
Pros: Great service, Lots of options , Vegan
Cons: Price is a tad high (but to be expected for vegan), The large restaurant is not up and running yet

New Vegetarian Restaurant Opens in - Edit
This little restaurant is just getting started, but has an impressive vegetarian and vegan menu. Almost everything can be made vegan, which is really nice for us vegans, especially up in this area where there aren't a lot of vegan options. I had the Italian "Meatball" Pizza with vegan cheese and it was tasty and filling, the crust was great, especially for gluten free. They have a full breakfast and lunch menu any time of the day which I will have to explore next time.
