Great food, lot of options

We had the Aloo Mutter & Aloo Gobi.
Both were very flavorful and well spiced.

Wicked Yummy

Pretty impressive veg selection for a non-vegan restaurant. I ordered the Aloo Paratha which was huge and yummy, the lentil soup which was very neutral in flavor though good, and the Chana Saag with medium spice and that was ultra tasty. My friend had the Naan and masala and liked those. The person who took my order over the phone was super helpful when it came to the vegan side of things: I asked which breads were vegan and if my dish was vegan, and when I ordered for my friend (a dish with dairy in it) she reminded me that it had dairy and reminded me again when I picked up the order that the particular dish and the Naan both had dairy and made sure I was aware of all my orders’ veg standing AWESOME. I’d love to dine in next time- could not because of the pandemic.

Pros: Portion size, Delicious, They know vegan

Gourmet Indian

We have never had a bad meal at Shalimar and we eat there 4-5 times a year. Don’t miss the Aloo Gobi and Dal Makhanwali — wonderfully flavorful with great texture.

Pros: Great vegan/vegetarian menu, Easy location on Rt 16, Helpful friendly staff

Cons: Medium spice is hot!

Best restaurant in town

The most vegan options I've seen on a menu while in town. My entire family was able to find something they liked meat, vegetarian and vegan. Great service from all the staff, so welcoming.

Pros: Good food, good service, multiple vegan options.

Cons: None

Good food, but long wait

Yummy food for sure, but it took forever for the food to come out. Like, an hour. We'd like to go back, especially as my kids were fighting over the one bowl of lentil soup, but we were afraid to order another in case we were there for another hour.

So. Good.

As an avid lover of Indian food, this was an extremely pleasing venture. The food is SO UNBELIEVABLY DELICIOUS. The curries have a wonderfully rich body to them and they do not mess around with portion sizes. I hadn't remembered the last time that I ate so much. There are some vegan options (not a ton because, well, it's not a vegan restaurant) which is awesome.
The service was also great and the waitresses are attentive, especially this sweet, little old lady who works there :) I'm pretty sure it's even a family-owned restaurant. The atmosphere is super inviting and there were a bunch of kids there!

Pros: MMMMMMMMMM!!!!!, Great service, Reasonable prices

Cons: no cons at all!
