Yummy curry

Our last night in Bowness, we opted for an Indian, a nice selection of veggie dishes that are vegan suitable or can be adapted to vegan (eg: minus ghee). Be sure to check with staff when ordering

We had the Spinach and potato pakora and the onion bhaji to start. Hubby had his usual Madras, which was full of flavour, I had the Gurka Sabzee, which again was full of flavour with a rich lentil and chickpea based sauce.
We also had a side of Saag Aloo. Delish! 😋

The take-home 'doggy bag' was just as yummy later that night.

A few vegan options and mostly tasty food

The place is spacious and decor comfortable. we were the first in there. Friendly enough welcome and service.
Staff were able to point out which options (from the vegetarian section) were either vegan, as it was. Or could be made vegan. A few times I felt like they had some doubt about vegan items and what had dairy etc in it. Or perhaps didnt really know what was in it and maybe telling me what I wanted to hear. That said, I did double check again and they seemed sure. Either way, the food was mostly good. The sag also was a little bland and the pokhoras were not genuine and felt over fried. The other main and side dish was tasty, flavourful and had good heat. Overall was pretty good, but nothing on the menu was specifically designated as 'vegan'.
