Serves meat, vegan options available. Has a few vegetarian options including gniocchi, raviolette oswaldo (veggie ravioli in sweet potato sauce, and veggie combo (falafel, hummus, tabouleh). Set up in a funky old house, the downstairs dining room revels in kitschy trinkets from the last century - board games, dolls, and train sets mingle with funky lamps, books, and presidential memorabilia. Reservations suggested. May have only a few vegan options. Open Mon-Sat 11:30am-3:00pm, Mon-Thu 5:00pm-9:30pm, Fri-Sat 5:00pm-10:30pm. Open Mon-Sat for lunch and dinner.

Cute but nothing to write home about

Sesame Seed is a really cute place but each time I visit the food is nothing special. Has few vegan options.

Tasty, low sodium

The staff was very friendly and the server happily took time to show me the vegan options and the chef/owner (?) gave a warm wave from the kitchen.

I had the Vegetarian Falafel Plate with baba ghanouj sub for hummus, since I was given a sample of the hummus already. The food was tasty, but lacked salt, which is fine for the hummus (salt on table), but not so much for the falafel. I really appreciate low sodium, but for those of us that don’t indulge too often it would be nice to have a dipping sauce or have it prepared with more salt. Otherwise, the seasoning in the falafel was good and seemingly unique.

I personally don’t judge too much on atmosphere, unless a restaurant is dirty or has carcasses on the wall. The place seemed quite cluttered with all kinds of antiques. Some might see it as charming, but I know enough about microbiology to dislike clutter, especially with antiques - the older, the worse. The seating was old, creaky wooden chairs. The place could probably use an update.

Pros: Very friendly service, Tasty food

Cons: Needs more salt, Outdated atmosphere

Nothing special

The food was fine, nothing that special. The baba ganoush was very good. I did not like that we were separated from others by a bookshelf. I ended up feeling like we were sitting with random people who happened to talk so loudly that we ended up not have any discussion at all. If I go again, I will ask for a more private table.

Pros: Food is okay, Some vegan options

dreadful

This place began as a Mideast restaurant, but has since expanded its menu to include all sorts of international main courses of mammals, birds, fish, and exotic sea animals. Vegan fare? Nothing more than the four standard appetizers you'd expect of any Mideast restaurant, but here all dreadful and loaded with salt, and the pita is only white flour. Same as its atmosphere cluttered with antiques, its menu is a step backward in several ways, so stay away.
