OMG! Best restaurant in Costa Rica!!! - Edit
I always loved Ser when they were located in Jaco. I think their new location and chefs are even more amazing! The food was so delicious it was worth having driven for 2 days each way to and from Nosara to eat there. I loved every bite of the 7 meals I had over 4 days. My #1 favorites were the Portobello Miso Carpaccio appetizer and Porcini Risotto. I also loved the Asian Carbonara, Gnocchi, Carrot Cream Soup, Pejibaye and Hearts of Palm Ceviche, and the Juicy Oysters Tacos (which was everything I tried - some multiple times). My whole mouth lit up with excitement at the different flavors and textures. The restaurant is beautiful, and the owner and staff are all super friendly and made me feel very welcome. If only I had a helicopter so I could eat there at least twice a week.

I have been going to Jaco for years and this was one of the worst food experiences I have had here. Both of our sandwiches and fries were super salty and inedible. One of the drinks was terrible so we asked for a replacement… they insisted on charging us for that drink. Server asked how the food was so I was honest and told her everything was too salty so she offered a discount. Wow! Thanks for the $1.50 discount on a $60.00 bill! When I complained that I was charged for a drink we barely tried that tasted awful and that the food was terrible and that the $1.50 discount was a joke.. she proceeded to get defensive and tell me how good her restaurant was. Terrible food, terrible drinks and terrible service. Do not go there, there are much better choices in Jaco.

The best 100% vegan spot in CR - Edit
An incredible spot! Truly mouthwatering. The appetizers were my absolute fav but their meals were also delicious & flavorful. We had the fried oyster mushrooms with a cilantro aioli 10/10! & the portobellos cap with toasted bread. It tasted like deli meat and I hadn’t experienced that in years. Along with the hearty meals we got the frijol & the portobello towers. If you like wine infused meals than the portobello tower will be a winner for you! Such a complex flavor profile and truly incredible. I would stop there again in a heart beat but we were only driving through on our last day. I highly recommend to anyone vegan or not.

An Amazing Restaurant - Edit
We simply did not expect to find this vegan gem in Jaco, Costa Rica. I guess our expectations for excellent quality vegan cuisine have been dashed so many times that we are a bit shocked when we find an establishment executing dishes at this level. We tried a broad range of dishes over a couple of days and can truly say that every one was outstanding. The ambience is causal bit chic. The wait staff are efficient and friendly. But the food is the star of the show. We can’t say enough about it. The prices are not inexpensive. But it is worth every penny you spend.

The vibes were very nice at this restaurant. Owner was very nice and great service. Food was delicious, and great location close to the beach. Upstairs which may be hard to find from the street. The ambiance and music was spot on. Had the squash and sage melt sandwich. Very creamy and filling. Fries were different but still tasted good. Would absolutely visit again. Nice to have a fully vegan place while on a trip.

I can’t even begin to describe how delectable everything here was! I came with a small group and we got several appetizers and entrees to split, and each new thing that I’d try, it was like fireworks were going off in my mouth and my heart. I want to be back here! So tasty

I made reservations for my visit and they saved us a corner table under the fan which was nice. We ordered the tempura pockets as an appetizer and they were delicious, definitely our favorite item that we ordered! My mom got the mushroom risotto and loved it, and I got the Thai salad and it was delightful. We shared the chocolate tart for dessert and it was very good, but we didn’t like the coconut yogurt that came on top (it’s a little sour, more like Greek yogurt). The serving sizes were bigger than expected and the prices weren’t bad! It’s a bit more expensive than the other vegan restaurants in the area, but nothing crazy—our bill was around $70 USD for the tempura pockets, Thai salad, mushroom risotto, a cocktail and the chocolate tart. They had some cocktails and I did order the Cascarita (Guava Margarita), it was pretty good but I’m not a huge fan of margaritas so I wouldn’t order it again (they don’t have many options for cocktails, otherwise I wouldn’t have ordered a Margarita). If you like margaritas, I do recommend the Guava one. Our server was very friendly and spoke good English, and they made our reservation over the phone in English as well. They have a QR code for their menu and it’s available in English & Spanish, and they have a menu option with photos too. The presentation of each plate is beautiful. I highly recommend, it was delicious!

One of the best Vegan Restaurants I've Ever Been to - Edit
The title says it well. The staff was amazingly friendly, and the concept of the menu was out of this world. The owners were amazing to talk to and extremely knowledgeable about vegan food. The photos of the food don't do it justice, I have been to many vegan restaurants around the world, and this place is in the top 3.

We had the medallones and the rollitos tempura. Both of the dishes were great and the presentation was on point. I do wish the rollitos had more filling, it was almost all rice. The drinks could have been better as well. I got a cappuccino but it was basically all milk with a little bit of foam. But overall a great restaurant and something you have to try if you go to Jaco.

It’s a rooftop terrace. Outside. Nearby the ocean. Around the corner from Selina hostel. Super new. Super pretty. The food is next level. Service is perfect. Drinks are perfect. Even the toilet is smelling like beauty and has loads of plants in the room. It’s perfect. Absolutely perfect. They don’t have Irish coffee on their menu but I explained it to them and they served me a super pretty and tasty version of it. ❤️

SER truely is one of the top three best restaurants we have ever been to - we agree with the last review. Everything we have tried was incredible and rich in different flavours. On top of that we have enjoyed an incredibly friendly and caring service by the lovely waitresses. We wished we could rate it 10 stars, so don't miss going there when you are in Jacó!!!

For the main meal she had the portobello tower and I had the carbonara. For both of us, it was one of the best meal of our lives.
This restaurant offer a real gastronomic experience, which is unfortunately pretty rare when you are a vegan. We absolutely recommend this place to anybody, vegan or not !

A vegan haven - Edit
We stopped by SER for lunch on our long drive from Monteverde to Manuel Antonio and it was exactly what we needed. Husband got the medallions and I got the Porto grill salad. Large portions, super delicious, and filling. Even the salad made a wholesome lunch. Husband is still raving about the medallions. Service was excellent and the rooftop view only adds to the experience. If you're vegan in Costa Rica, SER is a must!

Wow the food here is next level. Plant based or not, everyone will love it here I can’t explain how delicious the food is. Such wonderful flavour combinations but such a relaxed atmosphere just the perfect evening. Worth coming out of the way for even if you’re not in Jaco. Just go you will not be disappointed!

This is a nice, clean, somewhat upscale place, with a fusion menu. I prefer to eat local fare when traveling, so I got the tofrito. It’s a local dish, usually made with chicharrón (deep fried pork fat), but made with deep fried tofu skin over beans, rice, vegetables and a chimichurri sauce. It was good. I also got the hearts of palm ceviche. It was also good, but my wife is Peruvian and my expectation of ceviche is generally very different. Any ceviche I ever get, other than Peruvian ceviche, is really more like some kind of a extra chunky guacamole/salad or something (I digress). The dessert was a “lime bar.” It was ok, but I loathe raw desserts. I didn’t realize it was raw when I ordered it.

I got the tofrijo, the flavor was good. I was disappointed with the tofu. It was so deep fried you couldn't even tell it was tofu.

The overly fried tofu is to mimic chicharrón, which is deep fat fried pork fat. It’s supposed to be crispy and very oily/greasy. Kind of over the top for a vegan not used to eating greasy fried pig fat.

I ordered take-away but would’ve loved to stay as the place looked very cute and cosy. The staff was incredibly friendly. I had the appetizer of the day - a delicious concoction of pear, potato, vegan ricotta, pesto and greens - and the carbonara. The main was definitely a good portion and even though all in all it was a bit on the pricier side, it was worth it!
