Came back east to visit family & got delivery from here.

This isn't haute Chinese. This is Americanized deep-fried & caramelized Chinese. So good!

Consistantly Good Veg - Edit
I absolutely love this place. Possibly my favorite restaurant in NJ, or on Earth even. I've been going here for almost 20 years whenever I'm in the area and it has never disappointed me.
Read moreThe vegetarian menu is innovative as hell - it's far from the typical chinese food menu where you can get tofu and broccoli and that's it. The veggie spare ribs are amazing, the scallion pancakes - spectacular. Singapore rice noodle dishes, double curry, general tso's mushroom, veggie two treasures, highly recommend any of these dishes.
I also really love that the decor hasn't changed, it feels super comfortable and I prefer the wooden paneling and orange seats to any modern aesthetics. Not going to lie, I would totally live in the dining area.

Room for Improvement - Edit
Ordered:
Read more•Singapore Noodles w/Vegan Chicken
•Sunshine Ribs
• (Some Soy Beef & Chicken Dish they recommended)
Total: $34.15
Everything was unfortunately mediocre, i was none too impressed with any of the dishes but if I had to rank them it would be the Ribs first, the beef & chicken (vegan of course) dish, and then the Singapore noodles.
Found a hair in my food, and the flavor was nothing that reflected they put much thought into it.
The delivery was fast, but there was no option to place order online, only by phone as they are also not available on doordash (as of 5/28/22)
I wanted to like this place! The reviews below this one said great things, maybe it’d be more worth it if dining in, but personally I won’t be eating here again.

Phenomenal - Edit
Every Chinese food place has one or two hidden vegan options, but Sentosa goes all in by offering an entire menu! This place has so many unique options that I actually had to question the owner to make sure it was all vegan! I love Chinese takeout and Sentosa has given me access to so many dishes I thought I had to leave behind.

Such a treat! - Edit
I feel like some of their vegan options are hit or miss. The first time I tried, I didn’t love their food, but when I went back again, I ordered their Singapore noodles, vegan chicken, and sunshine ribs and it’s a game changer! I also order white rice instead of brown as I don’t love their brown rice. So delicious. And I’ve always had a great experience with the employees there. Love this place!

Might be my new favorite Chinese food place - Edit
Had a great meal here. They had an extension list of vegan and vegetarian options. When the waitress found out that I was vegan, she helped steer me away from something that eggs in it. Very friendly staff and delicious food!

Sentosa rocks!! - Edit
Moving from North Jersey to the Jersey shore, I was a little bummed out that there really aren't enough vegan local foods here. But then I found Sentosa and am so grateful. This place is fantastic. I order something new every time and they have not disappointed. It's a small family that runs it, I believe, and the food is so tasty. I make my own food all week and look forward to Saturday for my Sentosa meal.

BEST vegan Chinese! - Edit
A friend of mine suggested Sentosa for their vegan menu- not just a few offerings but a rather decent sized list of things to choose from. My husband and I always start our meals off with an appetizer of sunshine ribs which never disappoint. The place is small but the food is always delicious every time and the service is always very polite and pleasant. I'd love to see even more added to the vegan options but I'm rather impressed and delighted with what is already available. This has become a weekly visit for us on Friday nights to travel from ocean TWP to Brick. Little tip: order the sunshine ribs and the tso's veg chicken. You won't be disappointed!

I LOVE SENTOSA!!!! - Edit
What can I say? Everything is incredible. My personal favorite is Sweet and Sour chicken (mock)
Read moreThe veg wonton soup is amazing, and so are the yam fries.
What I really love is that my friends can enjoy Chinese food and I don't have to settle for "mixed vegetable delight". I can get regular, normal appearing Chinese meals like general tso's or even ribs!
May is a sweet heart, and the service is small town style.
Absolutely my favorite place in the world. I drive 40 miles each way to go here... and I do it at least once a week.
Pros: Full vegetatian and vegan menu, Large portions, Great quality
Cons: Only 5 tables , None, None

LOVE this place! - Edit
I've been coming to Sentosa for at least 10 years and I never get tired it. I love the mock meats and all of the sauces. Sometimes we request a sauce to be a little less sweet or less spicy, which they happily adjust. They have a full vegetarian menu and will substitute a mock meat in any of the regular menu items as well. Everything is made to order and we've been thrilled with accommodations and changes for us. The sunshine ribs are SO GOOD! We also adore the General Tso's "chicken" and sesame "chicken". The owner is lovely, helpful and always remembers our favorites. Highly recommend! The vegetarian portion of their menu deserves 5 stars, but Happy Cow only allows 4 stars for a restaurant that is not completely vegetarian. :(

Not that great - Edit
There are a vast amount of vegan and vegetarian options here, so we were really excited. However, both of us felt pretty gross after eating here, maybe because everything is really greasy.

Friendly and Good Food - Edit
Sentosa has always been extremely friendly and the food is always very good. The wait staff is always fast and gets your order exact. It's mostly a mock meat menu with heavier sauces for flavoring. It can be a little much for some people who aren't interested in that type of cuisine. Recommendations would be the scallion pancake, curry noodle soup and sesame veggie chicken.

A must try! - Edit
This place is great! The food is so good. There is a whole vegetarian section on the menu. The people are really nice and helpful. They always answer my questions for what id vegan and gluten free. I must get on their nerves. But they never show it. : ) Also, she always asked if we wanted separate bags for the left overs! They also have fixed up the place a lot.

Sentosa has Great Vegetarian food!! - Edit
We used to travel north to get good vegetarian chinese food, now with Sentosa we don't have too. They also have non-vegetarian so the entire family can get what they want while I can get my vegetarian. I love the vegetarian specials Sesame chicken. They have a large selection of vegetarian meals and sides. The seating may not be that great but the food sure makes up for that! They also have free food depending how much you buy. Make sure you total your stuff then request the free item or else you won't get it for free!
