Best Mexican! - Edit
Can’t for wrong with this restaurant group. We had the carne asada, chorizo, mushroom tacos, beet salad and taquitos. Everything was so flavorful!

The only frozen marg i will drink - Edit
Sentir does not disappoint. The gorgeous and delicious tacos are a must try, my faves are the pescado tacos. The chile relleno has a kick that makes it extra special. Huge special mention to the queen of all frozen margaritas, the mango flavor is truly the best cocktail in Manhattan.

Authentic, delicious vegan Mexican food - Edit
I can’t express enough how phenomenal Sentir is. New vegan restaurants can be a hit or miss; thankfully this was one of the good ones. The food is authentic, the ambience is intimate and true to the heritage, and the staff is attentive.
I had the 3 cheese empanadas, fried oyster mushrooms, homemade chorizo with papas, pescado frito tacos, churros and tres leches.
I was instantly attracted to chorizo since it was house made and it did not disappoint. The empanadas were not what I expected because of the spicy sweet guava glaze but it was a good kind of surprise - the kind I never knew I needed to experience.
The churros were perfect; they were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside and paired with creamy, rich sauces.
Overall, definitely worth a visit if you like Mexican food!

Underwhelmed! - Edit
I’ve been to all of Chef Guy Vaknins restaurants (multiple times) and was really looking forward to eating at Sentir.
Read moreHowever, the food today was not the spot on, delicious flavors I’ve come to expect from his restaurants!
Out of the four things we ordered, two were strictly okay and the other two were delicious so I’m hoping the “okay” dishes were just a one-off at the kitchen.
What we ordered:
1) Elote Asado - Okay
2) spicy chorizo tacos - Favorite dish of the night!
3) Carne Asada - incredibly underwhelming. The rice and black beans didn’t have salt or any flavor really. The steak was decent but it all didn’t come together as a dish
4) Churros for dessert - Churros themselves were amazing! The caramel sauce was perfection. The other two dips it came with were okay.
Overall, disappointed only because of the high standards I have for Chef Vaknins restaurants, but will give it another shot at some point!
Pros: Service , Spicy chorizo tacos and churros
Cons: Lack of flavor in some basics (rice and beans!)

What’s there not to love? I mean come on! Chicken quesadilla, birria tacos, banana blossom tacos (my fav), and churros with the most incredible sauces. Don’t even get me started on the coconut cream mixing with the chocolate, heavenly

The newest restaurant from culinary visionary Chef Guy Vaknin and City Roots Hospitality, - Edit
The newest restaurant from culinary visionary Chef Guy Vaknin and City Roots Hospitality, Sentir serves an entirely vegan and kosher Mexican-inspired menu that will make you feel toda buena onda. The place has an elegant, moody vibe—the front walls splashed with black and white cacti, the back adorned with colorful animal carvings reminiscent of Oaxacan alebrijes—enhanced by the friendliness of the staff. Start with their frozen margarita; choose lime for a classic touch or mango or guava for something more adventurous. We highly recommend the champinones fritos, fried king oyster mushrooms, for appetizers. For the mains, share the pescado frito (beer-battered banana blossoms), the birria tacos, and their most popular dish, grilled chick’n enchiladas. I have no recommendation for dessert because we were just too full at that point; must save room for next time. Just 5 months old, Sentir tastes and feels like it has a long future.

Absolutely delicious - Edit
My partner and I came here after a show and I must say this is probably the best culinary experience I’ve ever had. I had the carne asada and he had the chicken mole. It was so good - I ate it slowly to savor every bite which was a difficult task considering every bite was so flavorful. For dessert, I had the chocolate chile tart. It was heaven. Wonderful atmosphere and service as well.

My new favorite vegan Mexican restaurant! - Edit
Because I’m a big fan of Coletta, I was excited to try other vegan restaurants run by the same owners. I was blown away by Sentir. My friend and I split three dishes and a dessert:
Read more- Arepitas: Absolutely delicious! Small but mighty serving of 2 small arepas. Came out piling hot with a salsa-like sauce to cool it down. The fake steak shreds were the right texture (not too “fake meat”-y) and very flavorful. Would go back just for this small dish on its own!
- Chicken Quesadilla: Very fun presentation. Also tasty but wish there was more than just a dollop of the delicious guac crema on top to round out the flavor profile.
- Adobo Oyster Mushroom Tacos: Also good, but probably would have tasted even better if I ate it when it was hot! A good size for two tacos with a generous amount of filling.
- Lime Carlotta: Refreshing and light. A subtle tangy flavor. Great dessert to share!
The ambience is moody and tasteful. The music is slightly loud. The waitstaff were helpful, knowledgeable about the popular items on the menu, and attentive. Although there was so gentle nudging to wrap up our meal, they let us stay for a little more than 3 hours! Even though I went on a Monday evening, most of the tables were filling up.
Update 7/28/24:
Went back to Sentir to introduce it to my family—it was a hit!
Ordered the following:
- Three Cheese Empanadas: really delicious and good tasting vegan cheese
- Arepitas: just as good as I remembered it from the week before
- Banana Blossom tacos: surprisingly very tasty for a creative dish!
- Spicy Chorizo tacos: good but a bit spicy (not as good as the Banana Blossom tacos)
- Papas con Chorizo
- Chicken Mole: slightly sweet and tangy
- Platanos Maduros (side dish): dry and not sweet enough for my liking (least exciting item we ordered)
We also tried their drinks:
- Lime, Passionfruit, and Mango Frozen Margaritas: strong but good!
- Guava Limeade Mocktail: quite sour but refreshing

Every dish was flavorful and so intentionally put together. You must order the guacamole with tofu chicharrón. Enchiladas were amazing too. However, if you’re sensitive to spicy things then consider ordering something else. For me, it was totally worth it! 🌶️

Best Mexican we ever had! - Edit
This restaurant has recently changed its name to Sentir.
Read moreWe ordered Minerva IPA and Minerva stout. It was our first time to try this brand and it was surprisingly good. And even better during the happy hour (half price before 6:30pm).
For food, we ordered the Tuna Ceviche, Adobo Oyster Mushroom Tacos and Chile Relleno. The mushroom tacos were so tasty and the soft tortillas were very fresh! For dessert, we ordered the Cinnamon Churros and Tres Leches. Both were good, especially the freshly fried warm churros with three sources which were superb.
Everyone was friendly, cordial and smiling. Nice modern Mexican decor and vibe.
This is a great addition to Chef Guy’s vegan restaurants.

The food was so f** good here. The menu was larger than I expected. I got the quesadillas, and then realized after that the menu was much larger. I was not disappointed. It was better than any quesadilla I had pre-vegan days. Their drinks were good too. She wasn’t cheap though.😄

Nice atmosphere, tho a little loud for my taste, but typical NY. Great food with subtle flavors. They do fake meat and fish well. Recommend the tuna cevice and beef arepitas. The pescado tacos were a bit too fishy for me, but otherwise good. Lovely staff.

Nice restaurant and food, but the service could have been a little bit better/faster. The appetizer was our absolute favorite thing that we had here. The salsas were OK and the hot sauce wasn’t hot at all. I wasn’t a huge fan of the vegan chicken mole, but the vegan carne asada was quite good.

Great new vegan mexican place!!!! - Edit
AMAZING experience here at Siete! Fantastic vegan mexican food; for the first time I was able to try ceviche and empanadas! It was so hard to choose something on the menu, and everything we chose was great. The chicken quesadillas are SO worth having as an appetizer (my boyfriend and I still talk about them, ugh!). We went to Beyond Sushi (great vegan restaurant close to Empire State Building) and got a promotion for a free appetizer there. Bathrooms and ambiance is sultry and relaxing.
