Probably not a place for vegans - Edit
My partner and I were not very impressed with this place. I did not feel comfortable in their knowledge of veganism. We got the Sambusas because the waiter said they were vegan but I am not sure...and we got the vegan combo for 2. We couldn't decide if we wanted it for 1 or 2 but ended up going with 2 and were not able to finish it. I wasn't really impressed with any of the curries/spreads. Nothing had too much flavor and the one time I had Ethiopian food before I think I was more impressed. I could be ignorant though so please forgive me.

Worth the trip! - Edit
Amazing vegan platter. Smells in the place are fantastic. Staff are friendly. Good atmosphere. Constant complimentary refills of water and tea. BYOB options. Good price. Recommended.

Just wanted to point out that these photos are from Tesfa, the Ethiopian restaurant next door to Selam! So the review might be referring to Tesfa as well.

Great Ethiopian - Edit
Ethiopian is always a great stand by for a vegan on the road and Selam did not disappoint! Delicious vegan platter, reasonable prices, good beer selection.
