Nice place, nice atmosphere, nice food

Went here for a spot of lunch - had a really nice Latte with oat milk, toasted sourdough bread sandwich which had avocado, ‘cheese’ and sundried tomatoes in plus a side of organic sweet potato fries. There were some amazing looking cakes as well but didn’t try.

Only criticism was that food took a while to come out and we were ravenous! My friend is omnivore but he was also happy with food he had.

I would go back and would recommend.

Delicious vegan goodness

Seeds for the Soul is an absolutely gorgeous vegan cafe in Edinburgh with friendly and helpful staff.

I tried the oat mocha and it could possibly have been the greatest mocha ever.

Their salad bowls are so delicious, I especially loved their seitan. And I also recommend the chips and garlic mayo ♡

I cannot wait to frequent this wonderful cafe and make my way through their chocolate creations drinks menu.

So disappointed

Very disappointed with this place. After seeing it come up time and time again on social media I was so excited to try it on my first day off.
When I arrived it was very busy which was great to see but there wasn't anyone really directing anyone and the place is quite small so there was abit of pushing and shoving going on to get to a seat.

Once seated we ordered a summer vibes smoothie, coffee and 2 bowls of their home cut chips.

Smoothie was very thick and the lentil soup could have done with putting some stock in it, had very little flavour.

The chips took about 20 minutes to arrive and when they did there was about 5 in each bowl and looked like they had been coated in oil before coming to the table :-| very disappointing.

We had originally came in for just a cake and coffee but thought we'd have something savoury first, but everything had just put us off so we just wanted to leave.

We awkwardly waited at the till with the staff looking at us before asking if we could pay. After paying I realised it was very expensive and we had been charged £26 for what we had! Luckily I checked just as I left, turns out we must of paid for someone else's order too!!

Eventually after waiting around we got our money back and left. What a distaster of a trip! Especially since we don't live in Edinburgh and had to travel miles to get here. Definitely won't be back and wouldn't recommend.

Pros: Vegan

Cons: Small, Food took ages, Staff

hey stephen, bit of a poor review. it;s a shame its a new cafe open less than two weeks and they really really want to make people happy. My own experience was very different to yours, everyone give a bad review once and a while but i personally like to encourage people to improve and make vegan/vegetarian culture the norm. I hope you get a chance to go back again, this is someones business, the way they pay the rent, they need support from the vegan community. give it a another try.

Excellent new vegan cafe

Excellent new vegan cafe in Bruntsfield area of Edinburgh. Cosy with friendly staff and a great vegan menu. Pancakes for breakfast were the best I've had in a very long time. Presentation was great. Will definitely be back.

Pros: Exclusively vegan, Wonderful pancakes, Terrific coffee

Cons: None

Great vegan breakfast and cake

Yet another vegan spot joins the Edinburgh food scene! Excellent menu - their sweet pancakes and avocado toast options are absolutely delicious.

Get the carrot cake if you can - moist, rich and sweet with a smooth cream "cheese" topping. Yum yum yum!
