Lovely Dutch pancakes - Edit
A selection of vegan Dutch pancakes (thick crepes style) with both savory and sweet toppings. They had 2 vegan ice cream flavours and a couple of plant milks for coffee.

Vegan Dutch Pancakes, Garden Seating! - Edit
Scoops is a cosy cafe situated in a busy part of Caernarfon. They offer indoor and outdoor dining in addition to takeaway food. The dining area, which is situated at the back of the cafe, is cosy and well lit overlooking a sublime little garden space. I visited just after opening time today, and the place quickly filled up with a mix of locals and visitors. Scoops is clearly a popular spot in Caernarfon, and although I feel improvements could be made to how they present their vegan options, Scoops should absolutely be a popular spot among vegans, too.
Read moreTheir food menu is divided into 'Savory' and 'Sweet' waffles, and they also have a large 'Vegeterian' section. I ordered from the latter, and I went for the 'Pear, Fig, Walnut & Blue Cheese' pancake. I, of course, omitted the blue cheese, and as per the notice stating, pancakes can be made vegan for an extra 85p; I did just that opting for oat milk as my milk of choice. I can only guess the additional cost is for plant milk, which is an unfortunate common practice in omnivore cafes. To drink, I had a 'Cinnamon Chai Latte' with soya milk. The plant milks were not listed on the menu, but the staff were well informed on the vegan options they served, and I was even given a vegan biscuit to accompany my coffee! The latte was expertly made, and the foam was perfect and made the coffee look really appealing. The food was served quickly and the pancakes are very large and one is absolutely plenty for a meal. The combination of flavours was well balanced, and the ingredients were of good quality.
I usually don't give places a four if they do not have clearly marked vegan items, but as their menu was easy to navigate without one and that the staff were so well informed I will give Scoops a four. I'm happy to give them this score as it reflects the quality of their food and how good my experience was. I'm already planning to have one of their sweet waffles and a smoothie during my next visit!
Pros: Interesting Menu Items, Lovely Food, Lovely Indoor + Outdoor Seating Area
Cons: No Vegan Section or Labeling on Menu, No Vegan Labels on Ice Creams In Counter, Plant Milks Not Listed

Vegan pancakes! - Edit
The vegan pancakes are very tasty, and the staff extremely helpful. The only thing is the 75p charge to change to a vegan base!

Delicious Pancakes! - Edit
We stayed in Caernarfon on holiday and were surprised to find vegan pancakes on offer. We both had a vegan pancake with biscoff spread and it was delicious! Perfect holiday food! The pancake batter is the perfect consistency and there are a fair few vegan options. The portions are huge so make sure you're hungry :)
