Great slice options !! - Edit
Great place to grab a slice for vegans. Also have vegan garlic knots which are delicious. You can take out or grab a drink and eat your slice at the bar.

Vegan slice and full pizza option - Edit
Had a takeaway slice here and they offered a vegan thick crust tomato and garlic pizza. The sauce and flavours were really good. There’s also a vegan pizza with vegan cheese on the menu, but when we went that was only for a full pizza, not a takeaway slice.

Ok so I'm a bit conflicted about this because the place is not even vegetarian, but this was the best vegan pizza I've had in North America. Will definitely be back when in NYC. I don't know what cheese they use but it's just perfect!

Read moreThis was one of my go to spots when I was vegetarian, since pizza was my favorite food. I was delighted today to realize they have a vegan option. So I went, and I was blown away. The vegan mozzarella is there to complement the other flavors instead of being the main focus, and it works perfectly.
Most claims that “omnivores would go for it” or be fooled are overstatements in my opinion. There are just certain foods that don’t veganize super well, and I’ve long felt pizza is one of them (I prefer to just embrace awesome plant foods instead) — I do eat vegan slices occasionally to satisfy craving or for nostalgia, but it’s not because it’s as good as I remember cheese slices being. This slice though could be the rare exception. It really is amazing.
Nowadays I don’t have as much appetite for things like pizza — I love good plant based foods. But when I do get the craving, I know where I’m going to go 😎

This may be my top spot for vegan pizza in all of nyc. Amazing sauce, crust, & they use NUMU! the basil is a nice touch too. Plus its right down the street from other favorite vegan spots!

Amazing vegan pizza! - Edit
Located in an area with so many amazing vegan options, I decided to stroll into Scarr’s because they offer vegan pizza slices made with NUMU vegan cheese—which is a local NY cheese company and probably one of the best vegan mozzarellas out there, if you haven’t tried it already. It’s locally made and amazing and your omni friends could be fooled. Slices are only $4 and I noticed they charged the same for the regular slices, which is a huge plus! You can also order vegan whole pies and customize those as well as the slices however you want. They also have vegan Caesar salad. I love this place and wish they had locations all over the city!
