Amazing restaurant and owner - Edit
My favorite restaurant in Sioux Falls.
Read moreAlways plenty of vegan options and great staff.
Sanaa also does A LOT for our community. Often having fundraisers to support organizations that are doing good for our local and global community.

Tasty food and quick. - Edit
Several vegan options and salads, all food appears to be made in advance so like a sandwich shop it is heated and quickly delivered as counter service and then you sit down. Food was tasty and fresh. Really good vegan tzatziki sauce and the fermented eggplant was nicely spiced. The restauranteur warned me it was spicy but I did not find it so; I would call it mild to moderately spicy and really good. Loved the tabouleh which was packed with parsley.

Vegan options - Edit
The food wasn’t bad, and it was nice having a few options to choose from in an area that wasn’t particularly vegan friendly. The service was a bit chaotic, it didn’t seem like the lunch rush was particularly timed. The food kept me alive, but didn’t stand out for me.

Best Restaurant in Sioux Falls! - Edit
I've known Sanaa since I was a kid and have many of her cookbooks. She's the best! Her restaurant is almost entirely vegan, and everything vegan is amazing. Try the kibbeh!

Many vegan options - Edit
We had the vegan pies ( not sure the name). But they were delicious. Not enough food though so would need to get something else to go with it. They are 5.95 each and to make it a meal ( includes two sides) would be 10.00. So definitely should get that option if hungry.

Happy Travelers - Edit
We went off highway on our trip to SD from Chicago in order to try this restaurant. It was well worth the few minute drive off of I-90. So great to have a healthy vegan option for eating lunch. There were many vegan options and the food was so delicious. I also appreciated the fact that the restaurant was in a building full of other cute little shops and art galleries. I highly recommend this place.

Amazing buffet! - Edit
Every item at the buffet was vegan except for one chicken dish and one beef dish. There were so many options and it was all very tasty and healthy! It cost $14 for the buffet which was a very reasonable price too!

Tasty options in a warm environment - Edit
I've only ever had positive experiences here! The best time to go is Friday evening or Saturday afternoon, when dishes are served buffet-style. During those times, everything is clearly marked vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free. The food is outstanding!

What a wonderful surprise! - Edit
A gem of a restaurant where you are catered and cared for by the owner herself and her staff. The owner is extremely knowledgeable and caters well to vegans. Buffet items are labeled and had 2 entrees and rice plus a delicious greens salad with 4 appetizers! All four were delicious. Turkish coffee and a wonderful donut for dessert hit the spot

Best place in Sioux Falks - Edit
Ate here twice and both times were fantastic. I would leave 5 stars if the app would let me. We had the buffet both times. Only 2 dishes were non vegan. She even made me an amazing apricot dish for dessert. The eggplant was my favorite as well as the pesto pita and 3 different types of tapenade. Also enjoyed visiting with Sanaa and hearing about her life and family. Beautiful woman inside and out. It was like having dinner in her kitchen.

Detailed Review: AMAZING food! - Edit
One of my FAVORITE places to eat in Sioux Falls. I highly recommend going during the buffet time as Sanaa ALWAYS has a lot of vegan options available and the food is incredible! There are a lot of vegan and vegetarian dishes with the option of meat ones as well. Food is always delicious and items can vary depending on produce availability. Sanaa is very conscious of the environment and often sources products locally as much as she can and from her own garden. On occasion she will have a vegan dessert! Lovely woman who runs this place and she takes great pride in her work. The place has a lot of character with great decorations. I have never been disappointed with the food and enjoy every chance I get to go there. Prices are very reasonable. Everything is well marked during buffet and on the menu itself. Staff are happy to help and really nice.

Lovely light lunch - Edit
We had the Mezza and the Falafel Fatayer and a couple coffees. The Mezza includes five large, warm pita halves, fresh, delicious hummus with olive oil, a red lentil side and a walnut and olive tapenade, and the Fatayer is a warm pita wrapped around delicious fillings. The falafel with pickles was delicious, and we asked for the tahini (sesame based) sauce rather than the yogurt based sauce. The specials today included a red lentil soup and a Spinach Fatayer. Service was good, and the space was nice. It's counter service with a bit of a cafeteria style. They advertise a gluten-free menu, Friday Dinner, and Saturday buffet. The desserts looked lovely, but I'm not sure whether any were vegan.

A must stop for anyone - incredible flavors! - Edit
What a find! We stopped by for lunch on a Saturday, when they do their Buffett. Only 2 items were not Vegan, and the flavors that Sanaa blends in her dishes are incredible.
Read moreWe had the opportunity to spend some time chatting with Sanna, who is originally from Damascus but learned cooking in France and the US. She is also a certified dietician. She cooks alot of vegan and vegetarian options as both her daughter and husband are vegetarian.
This is such a gem in what is otherwise a real vegan food desert.
Pros: Wonderful Vegan Options, primarily Vegan/Vegetarian
Cons: my stomach isn't bigger so I couldn't eat more

An Oasis - Edit
I had a good experience at Sanaa's. First of all it was the only restaurant in town I could find that would accommodate my diet, which is essentially whole foods plant based. I ordered the Mujadara, which consisted of bulgur wheat and lentils, the red lentil soup, and a side. I told them I was vegan, and Sanaa herself (I think) very quickly and confidently made sure my dish would be made vegan. She even threw in an extra side at no cost, because she thought it would go well with my dish. Everything tasted really good. I maybe could have used just a TAD larger portion, but I left fairly satisfied. Overall I like the place a lot. Only reason for four stars is I reserve five star rating for truly great veg and vegan restaurants.

Fantastic food, unbeatable prices. - Edit
We were on a road trip through the Dakotas, and despaired of finding good vegetarian food. Google and Happy Cow directed us to this restaurant, and we were so happy we drove a little out of the way to find Sanaa's. The food was great, the staff was very friendly and a happy time was had by all! They had a wide selection of eggless desserts too, and this was the icing on the cake! I thoroughly enjoyed talking to the owner, Sanaa, and hearing her story.

awe inspiring vegan spread - Edit
Being my first time eating Middle Eastern, I'll tell you its like Indian food without the heat. I'm not sure if I did it right with the breads and condiments but everything in the buffet was so incredibly good I had to pile up a second plate.

Friendly, Fabulous & Filling - Edit
Sanaas Restaurant, located several blocks east of downtown Sioux Falls, is a very clean, color filled restaurant that serves tasty Syrian vegetarian and vegan food, including gluten free. Her hummus, green olive spread, falafel & eggplant sandwich style wraps, soups specials & a huge dessert case including baklava & date bars - all are tasty & freshly made. She is open for Lunches: Mon - Sat., and serves a wonderful complete buffet on Friday evenings. There are beautifully illustrated books for sale with recipes she serves, with a new vegan book coming out this fall. As often as I am in Sioux Falls, I try to eat here. Try it and you will have a new home away from home for great tasting healthful food and a very pleasant eating experience. There is a ramp for handicapped entry. The bathrooms are very clean & neat. Be sure to ask if you need gluten free or vegan food. She will show you which items are available for the day.
