Once in a lifetime meal - Fantastic experience for vegetarians and gluten sensitive

First of all - this is an experience, not a dinner option. The prices are quite high ($600 for two adults and a kid with two alcoholic beverages and tip), so you have to think of it as a once in a lifetime culinary experience of Costa Rica.

With that said, the ambience is amazing. Highly recommend the 5pm sitting (esp with young kids - we had a 2yr old and a 6yr old). The views are fantastic.

This place has an entire 9 course vegan/vegetarian menu and almost everything is gluten friendly. As of April 2024 their theme was a tour around Costa Rica and didn't disappoint. They did an absolutely wonderful job with the kids menu/experience - highlight was seeing them so excited.

Food was generally what you would expect Michelin star level. Only downside is that it's probably one dessert course too many. Go hungry if you can :-)

A night to remember.

INCREDIBLE experience!

I had no idea what to expect at this place. It was a bit fancier than I am used to (the fanciest place I've ever been!) and I read mixed reviews here. We started our night checking out the drink menu that had a lot of vegan-friendly herbal teas and smoothies.

When our 7+ course meal started, I was blown away by all of the intense, magnificent, and unique flavors. I don't want to give it away, but it was some of the best food that I've ever had in my life. It seemed like staff knew what vegan was, and our server was amazing. He loved seeing our reactions as he brought out the next dish. By the end I was full, happy, and honestly blown away by the food.

If you can afford this place, it's worth the splurge! This will forever be one of the best meals of my life.

Pros: Amazing food, Incredible atmosphere, Great drink menu

Cons: Not all vegan

They Lie about their ingredients

Eat at your own risk!

I made the reservation noting gf celiac disease. The waitress confirmed it.

At the end of the meal I read the ingredients on the chocolate. It had gluten as an ingredient.

The manager said they do their best but make no guarantees. This wasn't cross contamination. They specifically fed me food with gluten in it while telling me it was gf.

I wouldn't trust them with vegan. Unless you see them not cooking with broth, butter, and fat..

Pros: Nice view

Cons: Don't believe food allergies are real

A unique dining experience

This restaurant is unique in that it only serves a 7-course degustation and it is set up in the tree tops, so each party has an individual glass booth overlooking the trees and peninsula. As it is marketed as an experience (and it is), I'm not going to give away too many details, but just say that each course comes with a story and is beautifully presented. We got the wine pairing, which came out at $297 for 2 people (without wine it's $80 each before taxes). Definitely one of the most expensive vegan meals I've ever had, but a unique and enjoyable one. Reservations are required as each experience lasts 2.5 hours (dinner only).

Cons: Expensive
