Serves meat, vegan options available. Small family run restaurant offering vegetable based curries/rice with papadoms, vegetable noodles, vegetable kottu and salads. Specify vegan.
This is a family run restaurant in Tangalle about 5 minutes walk from the beach. It's a bit out of the way in a quiet street but is well worth visiting. The son of the family team is very friendly and will greet you and his mum cooks the most amazing food ever.
Tangalle is kinda expensive in terms of Sri Lanka for eating but this place is incredible. The veggie curry for 2 is 8 dishes of amazing dahls, currys and sambol with rice and pappadoms which will be guaranteed to fill you up and be one of the best curries you've ever eaten I promise. All this will set you back about a £5 for 2 people of for one meal about £2.30!
The restaurant itself is lovely and clean with games to play while you wait for your meal. (as it's all cooked fresh and to order, expect a bit of a wait - it's worth it)
Luckily Sri Lanka is a very vegan friendly country and MOST curries will be made with coconut milk and cooked in coconut oil.
This place is not to be missed if you're in Tangalle!
