Tasty food, nice atmosphere, but the staff made want to pull my hair out - Edit
Title says it all. The food was pretty good and the restaurant has a nice interior and atmosphere but the staff drove me nuts. I walked in and they greeted me in English. A man handed me a menu and asked if I wanted to eat in or take away. I said eat in and he told me to look at the menu then order at the counter. Okay cool. I asked him a question whether something was vegan or not and he had no clue what that meant. I asked him in Chinese and he still didn't know. Someone else was able to answer my question. I went to order and the girl at the counter asked me to sit down first... okay sure. So I did, double checked with the waitress if something was vegan and she told me there's cheese (which wasn't listed in the menu). Then she asked if I wanted soup, I love soup so yes. I chose the only flavor that was labeled in the menu as acceptable for vegans and she said "oh there's milk" (while it was written in Chinese that it was vegan which she said was a mistake). After all this I was a tiny bit put off. Then I'm sitting there and hear two servers talking about "the foreign girl".
Food was good, not a place I would go everyday bc it's not that inexpensive but nice to know it's an option nearby work. I probably will go back but it's not a must see place or one that I would go super out of my way to get to.
If you're vegan you ought to definitely double check even if the item looks vegan in the menu.
